Merry Christmas all!

For my gift to myself I changed my 997.1 turbo tiptronic steering wheel to 997.2 PDK style!

Thanks to Aaron Greenberg and Keith VanB from Porsche of London in Ontario for the
coding.

I also changed my OEM stock exhaust tips to matte black quad tips as well!

Be safe over the holidays rennlist friends,
Andy

Default Interior LED lamps - check

Great video - would have never thought about the polarity issue.

Default '73 RS Tribute . . . . continuation

A BIG THANKS to rennlist member Ten Years for recommending me to change the Carrera script from a modern one to one that matches the Duck Tail - the script from the 70's. So here is the final rear end view of my '73 RS Tribute - originally a MY10 C2 w/manual trans and sport bucket. Hope you all will enjoy it!

I have H&R springs on mine. Drop is 1.25" front and rear which is what it needs. No rubbing at all. Eibach/Techart at 1" comes up just short imo.

Yea, that looks great, sandwedge, and is the look I'm seeking. You only changed the springs? Factory ride height on these is just a bit too high for me.

Finished up the install of the new (to me) FVD exhaust. Porsche sure is using cheap bolts these days. My 2010 with only 11000 miles on it had bolts on the studs of the catalytic converter that were just rounded nubs. The guy at the Porsche parts department told me they put such cheap hardware on because Porsche doesn't want you to use the old studs and bolts. pause......What the H???????? Studs came out pretty easily after soaking with PB Blaster for a couple of hours, just used an old drift punch and knocked 'em out with a smack of the ball peen hammer. Took it out for a drive and it was quite tame in the city as long as I didn't get on it. I'm really impressed that there is no drone on the highway. My Boxster with the "Top Speed" exhaust was horrible on the highway. I think that I am going to like this exhaust.

Installed Weather Tech winter floor mats. They fit perfectly and look nice! I will be installing a PDK paddle-shift wheel soon. Looking forward to having that instead of my button-shift wheel...should be more modern looking and easier to use.

Just the springs but I also have after market wheels with different offsets. I say that since the drop will tuck your wheels further into the well and you will wish you could add spacers which you can't on CL wheels. Only fix is after market wheels with customized offsets. Just my opinion but I think it looks better lowered even if you stick with stock wheels. Factory ride height never looked right to me on any of the 997's except the GT3 variants.

Well you answered my second question, which I should have asked the first time - after market CL wheels with customized offsets. Can you send me the exact specs on the wheels, and where you got the springs? Also, where did you have the springs installed? Thanks!

Bought the springs from Champion http://www.championmotorsport.com/
Suncoast in Sarasota did the install and alignment. Wheels are 19/9 front and 19/12 rear. Offsets are 50 front and 46 rear. Fronts are perfect at 50 but if I ordered a new set I would bring the rears out another 3mm.

Wash, claybar, polish and waxed for the first time. Never clayed, not as difficult as I thought.

Finally got around to installing the front grill guards, homemade from Home Depot.

Debadged and deciding on the 991 "PORSCHE" emblem across the back. I like the look and have the emblem, but am enjoying a debadged vehicle.

Tomorrow I will finish putting the b pillar, c pillar and rear leather panels in. Got a great deal and have done everything forward except the dash. Don't want to deal with that.

T., that looks great! That really pulls it all together. Good size on it, too. I've been contemplating going duck tail, too, on my white car. Great look, overall. Cheers.

Inspired by Kellen; washed it this morning at 7 AM barely 45° out / fastest wash ever; clay bar; two stage polish - now breaking for breakfast - then wax and vacuum. Just in time for the rain tomorrow.
