Do you have a quick rundown about the parts you used for your phone mount? I need to get something similar set up for my GTS. Thanks

The mounting base and phone cradle are both from Proclip. I use their products in all my cars. Here is the 997 specific mounting base:

http://www.proclipusa.com/dashboard-..._leftorright=0

You can search their site for the exact model cradle that fits your phone.

I also applied Alcantara to the mounting base arm, and I covered the base of the cradle, where it attaches to the mounting base, with a cut-to-size piece of adhesive felt. I think it cleans up the look, as the felt covers the screw heads.

Lastly, I also used a piece of the same felt to cover up the screw hole and heads that can be seen when the phone is not in the cradle. Of course, you don't have to use the felt or Alcantara. The basic setup is not bad looking, at all.

Oh, and don't use the double sided tape that's provided, on the inside of the mounting base arm. I now have Alcantara that wraps around and provides a cushion between the plastic mounting base arm and the leather dashboard trim piece. Before I did the Alcantara, however, I used a couple of pieces of strategically placed felt to do the same. I just didn't want the hard plastic rubbing against the leather.

Hope this helps. Thanks.

Experimenting with the look, added some gray fins.

Gundo!!! Did the 2 inches tube, love it so far! I'm just wondering how much of an effect in terms of sound would a different shape have (like the slightly bent tube instead of straight...

Celebrated another mileage milestone (see below) with a bit of love for the leather with MacGuiar's Leather Conditioner wipes. Ordered Leatherique for a more thorough cleansing/conditioning. Applied some Griot's Rubber & Vinyl dressing to keep those bits supple on the Texas heat. Later? Driving it! Look out 40K!

Had a broken exhaust bracket welded -- good times.

And since I had the exhaust tips off anyway, polished them up to get rid of the burnt oil residue.

Thanks, I swear by this stuff for polishing any kind of shiny metal -- works fast and works great!
