Spent a day and a half cleaning it after a 3K mile adventure to South Florida and then on to Parade in French Lick! Including a side trip to Indy and four laps of the track. Then on to TN to visit friends before heading back home...lots of fun. Oh yea, and got to learn how to plug a tire after picking up a nail along the way.

Congratulations!

Very cool picture. Not a perspective that's often seen.

Thanks! OEM. I bought them from someone off ebay. Got a great deal, couldn't pass up. I want to get the full leather dash, but geezz.....i just can't justify it's cost. I don't need it, but I want it. LOL

Default What did you do to your 997 today?

Took it out for a spin before it got too hot, and before we pack up the truck and celebrate the Fourth with family. Got on a fave back road, and did my first extensive experiment with Sport Plus mode. Awesome! Continued to experiment with the button shifters. Happy Fourth fellow 997-ers!

Replaced the front brake pads and finally got around to removing the centerlock wheels. I know it's been said, but I will echo the sentiment again, these cars are really easy to work on.

Bought a 2007 Mini Cooper S as a DD to keep the miles off the 997. I added a front aero bumper with screens to the 997 and should have it back in the next week or so. I will post pics as soon as it hits the driveway.

Nothing exciting unfortunately. Was going to replace my AC vents but the I can't pop the trim off the silver ones I bought. Just painted my console and cup holder trim. Was going to do an alcantara lower dash and have spares bought. Just need to buy some alcantara but trying to decide whether to glue it right on or remove the vinyl first.

Now that I see those leather side panels a few posts up, I'm thinking I need some of those too

Anyway, just a work in progress mostly to get the console out.

Those red accents are very sharp looking. Is the red console cover leather (that's what it looks like to me), or something else like alcantara?
