The screen on my PCM2.1 in my RS60 is fading, which looks terrible so I was thinking of repairing it, even though I usually turn it off anyway (the 2013 maps aren't very useful anyway). I have a VISEOO for bluetooth via MOST, which works well for streaming music and map directions, but it has a bug on calls (only the first call after starting will work). With the Bose/MOST, anything you want to hook up becomes pretty expensive quickly if I want something aftermarket (even the cheap Chinese units that by all accounts seem to have lots of issues). So €1200 for this unit actually sounds like a pretty good deal, if it is a more or less drop in replacement. I just need reliable Carplay with a touchscreen, and a hook into MOST. Any other option for that will run from ~€900 upward anyway... so following this thread with interest and eagerly awaiting more info from @RaBe !
How much did you pay for this unit in Euros? I am looking forward to reading your comments about the installation and use of this new unit.

Great question regarding pricing, as I'm curious to find out roughly what we would be expecting to pay here in the States.
Also, what all is included with the head unit? Is this truly a plug-and-play, or will there be additional dongles or wiring harnesses we're going to have to install?
What really concerns me is the use of a DVD disk for the maps. I was hoping that the new system would switch to a memory card/USB stick instead of requiring the old DVD player in the frunk.
My DVD GPS player no longer works, although the GPS unit works: I can see the coordinates change as I drive, but the display of the maps is gone.
Also, the old GPS player and system, causes the wrong display of the date and time. I wonder if they upgraded the new system to 19 bytes....

Anyone know what to make of the black head unit (behind the sliver one) on the cover of the Navigation Software disc box? The shape and placement of the volume **** is quite different to the silver 997.1 PCCM Plus unit and also different to other PCM units, like PCM 3.0, 3.1, etc. (unless I'm mistaken). It kind of looks like it could be for a 997.2, though I also think it might be too wide.

Let's hope that is not the case. If you look at the picture on the box that RaBe posted, there is a "Map" slot on the front of the unit which probably takes a micro SD card. I can't imagine we would need a CD/DVD. I was hoping that I could rip out the GPS CD unit in the frunk out and throw it in my toolbox along with the old head unit.

Sounds like the one with the black bezel is for the Cayenne, but I don't know for sure. Someone else mentioned it earlier in the thread I think.

It's an SD card. It goes into that bottom left slot on the front of the PCM. It's sold separately for an extra €125.
My guess is the new PCM doesn't do anything with the DVD player or disc changers, and you can remove them to save weight. And sell them on eBay (You would need a MOST loopback though, so when you remove it doesn't break the optical chain, but those are like €5.)

That's the Cayenne one, 955/957.
If that version doesn't support the OEM backup camera, I'll probably only get one for my RS60, and move the VISEO to my Cayenne Turbo
