At some point, I hope you'll find out that it's more fun to actually drive the car than to keep taking it apart and putting it together with different parts

Well, I wasn't sure since you're coming up on 10 months or so of owning it, but haven't really driven it :0
I know how these project go though. Took me 18 months to do my Cayenne widebody. Keep plugging away - it's that "project creep" that'll get you.

not sure why so much hate. Hes doing a good job, and once done, car should be better than original. My Evo project is on jackstands for the past 4 years, engine built blew up in total parts upgrade and custom fabrication, then suspension, interior on and on .... I have other car to enjoy so I don't mind. Keep updating, want to see whats next

Interesting project, quite a bit chaotic I might add... maybe would be good to explain the end goal of the car? Like a track build? Fixing up a nice luxury 997 Turbo 2WD? Like what exact items do you have in mind for the end goal of the project?!

This project is a exploration of the 997.
In all seriousness tho, the 997 and mine in particular should be looked at, as a work of art. I dont use any garbage parts and take every detail into consideration. The whole engine brace thing was kind of a hack job but **** happens and it still got done. I invite anyone to come take a gander at my build and tell me its subpar in anyway. Whatever maybe some of you guys should try working on your car for once. My builds are bad *** ask the m3 forum guys. Oh wait you cant cus their forum got shut down and they cant afford to be on here!! You got zilvia tho : )
ferrari chat next. That should be fun. 458speciale
edit: this build will be a high revving gt2 build. G97 box gt3 crank and heads. The whole 9.

good eye!
for one i don't really plan on using the red stitch part.
idk i got options cus i can reuse my turbo leather dash as the dash is two pieces. Those highlighted areas appear to be some type of sun or water damage. I plan on reupholstering that portion of the dash which is the more important piece. A sport chrono delete!

I also plan on deleting the headlight washers aswell.

I usually approach projects by breaking it down into phases. For example, if I wanted to modify the exhaust subsystem, I would only take apart that subsystem, replace it with the desired components and only move on to the next subsystem once that modification was complete. By breaking the project into multiple phases you have:
1) a higher probability of success
2) you can still drive the car after the modification is complete
3) you can fund the current or next modification
4) anticipate cost over runs
5) reduce the risk of losing smaller nuts, bolts, washers, etc. which are hard to track down or near impossible to find at the moment of need.
6) Spreads costs across multiples of phases and reduces of the risk of being upside down on car ownership
7) Allows for delivery time on parts, and special tools
8) Allows for time to research options and get best possible prices.
9) Allows you to tag components, mark and label for re-assembly, allows you to take photo's of before/after phases
10) Prevents memory loss which occurs over time as to the process for assembly and dis-assembly. This is especially true of this phase involves something you have never done before.
11) By doing this you also free yourself to re-sell the car if some new opportunity arises.
