Let's see if you end up with a car that looks good and actually runs, since you're talking about changing the crankshaft and other internal engine components, but threw in the towel on the prior Bimmer project. You're talking about using a GT3 crankshaft, but the bore and stroke of your Turbo engine is actually larger and longer than a GT3 or GT2 crank. Stroke is determined by the crank, so you're plan is to shorten the stroke vs what you have now - that will reduce your displacement and your compression ration. Just putting parts from the GT motors into your engine with the same architecture doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be an improvement and the DME will also need to be retuned.

Good luck, but based on your history, think you're in over your head here.

Gotta go write a new rap.

LOL my b yo, i thought you were trying to show me the wing you were talking about didnt know that was yours. Im not trying to stir up sh*t w my fellow rennlisters. Im just not a very big fan of aftermarket looks. I like to keep it classy usually.

Im aware its not a bolt on affair dont worry, just let me keep building. A high revving 997gt2 with rs and cup parts is boring i get it, its been done before 🤷🏻‍♂️.

So I have to ask. If you leave the Turbo outside, what car is in the garage seen in the photos?

When I first started working as a IT consultant we did multi million dollar projects for large companies like Caterpillar Inc, Wyeth-Ayerst, Tandy, Quaker Oats, Motorola, Inland Steel etc etc. We always tried to break new systems dev. down into subsystems that needed to be designed and built(coded) kinda like breaking a big problem into more digestible chunks, and to rapidly show value to the customers by managing each component successfully. We did a lot of large fixed price projects, with tight change control procedures and process to deliver on time and budget it takes some discipline.

The project managers would say to us the 5 P’s of any project, **** Poor Planning leads to Poor Performance. Something to think about and apply to every rather complex effort. If you allow yourself the time to think through the problem domain carefully and do some things serially vs in parallel it can help reduce risk of failures.
How do you eat an elephant, one bite at a time.
