That’s quite a collection of vehicles that don’t run well. The next logical purchase would be a rollback.

all jokes aside man, but have you considered getting something at decent market price that is, reliable and doesn't require any projects or maintenance. I think it'd be nice to have while you work on all these other projects..

yes, best thread on rennlist though

I'm sorry to have to tell you. But from what I've seen through this thread, you're not a car guy. If your neighbor buys a pipe wrench, he does not become a plumber. But it's a funny thread. The highlight is the "disassembly" of the exhaust system and the fantastic completely irrelevant images.

What, in your opinion, makes someone a car guy/girl?

Well. First and foremost that he knows what he is doing. But you might think of someone who likes cars. But doubt that was what he meant when he was going to fix his friend's Mercedes. Fixing brakes on other people's cars requires approved professional competence in Norway. By the way, what do you think a plumber is?

A plumber is a profession. A "car guy" is, in my opinion, simply someone who likes cars. It is an apples and oranges comparison.

Maybe you misunderstood the term "car guy" for "mechanic"?

He called himself a car guy, and therefore he considered himself competent to fix his friend's car. That's my point. Would you let him touch your car? He's a car guy after all. But I agree with you that a car guy is usually someone who likes cars. My 6 year old son also likes cars.

'Car guy' is a bit ambiguous. Maybe the OP can clarify what he meant? Do you not have issues with law enforcement while working on cars that late on what appears to be public property?
