do ALL pcm 3.0 (bose + non-bose) require a MOST adapter? they are all digital output *only*?

for some silly reason , i always under the impression that the non-bose cars would be analog audio output, but i am realizing now that it's only 997.1 pcm 2.1 non-bose that have RCA analog audio output.

Hi Pedro

Just go onto Ali Express and search Porsche Cayman rear camera. As I said in my previous posts I could not make the wifi adaptor work because I still needed the trigger signal from the reverse light. It was fairly easy just to hard wire it and it works perfectly now.

Hi Pedro,

I purchased the same Android head unit as you did. It looks exactly like the one in the pictures you posted. Everything works great after the install but I cannot find the trigger wire do the back up camera as there are no pink or labeled wires.

were you able to get your back up camera working?

if you have a 997.1, the canBus will NOT detect the reverse trigger. ONLY on the 997.2 has it been reported that the canBus adapter sends the proper reverse trigger signal

for a 997.1 - you will get the reverse trigger via
1) tapping into the black + blue wire from the taillight harness (this is easy to do if you already have the reverse camera cable fished from the rear - MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT USE THE 2-in-1 CABLE. use the 2 separate cables so you have the OPTION to have the camera turn on via standard 'putting it in reverse' while also being able to control the reverse camera via the fCam app. the 2-in-1 cable wont allow you to do this - but it wont be a deal breaker for some
2) you can get the same black + blue cable from the kickpanel - in the first thick loom that goes to the rear of the car. pls note that in some 2005s (such as mine) - you cant find this black/blue cable here DESPITE the oem wiring schematics. my car has this issue, but 07+ does not - you can easily find the black/blue reverse trigger here (maybe 06 owners can chime in)

MAKE SURE 'prohibit reverse' is set PROPERLY in the secret android menu - otherwise hte reverse trigger will NEVER activate

Default something new is coming.

while not yet finished 100%

this should be the android pcm that 997/987 owners have been looking + waiting for
- fonts resemble oem (similar to the ones used in the newer climate control switches)
- ***** + buttons - with oem design in mind
- 7 PROGRAMMABLE buttons (vs 6) + sd card slot
- buttons are laid out based on oem order + functionality
- overall mold size of the unit is same as oem, doesn't protrude at the sides as the other android unit with ***** + buttons
- made + sold by owTowsin, who almost all of us bought their earlier no-buttons g1 android unit from 2020-2021in this giant thread
- silver version will use nissan kr2 paint code (a rennlist favorite - should be a good match)
- eta q4 2022 , MAYBE q3 2022 - still tweaking one thing.

i will have to ask but it would have to be
- android 10 or newer
- competitive to the other pcm (with ***** + buttons in the market)

id assume whatever we were paying in 2020 for the fully loaded version (g1 - no *****/buttons) would be what this would cost for the fully loaded version (g2 - with *****+buttons)

Default Anyone having issues with getting the buttons to light up?

When I turn on headlights the screen dims but the buttons don’t light up. Also notice none of the buttons seem to do anything.

it’s the latest android box (not the new one above) with **** and buttons installed in an 07 997.1

thx in advance.

On my unit, the buttons light up and they work. Sounds like yours are defective or perhaps something need to be enabled on a menu.

anyone know if we can add remote buttons to this head unit? We’d need to have a wire called ‘key 1’. Perhaps on the Canbus bundle?
