What did you do to your 996TT today?
You're most welcome it was brought to you by idle time owing to my retirement! Anyway RWD on these cars with any LSD is a gas, and has to be tried to be fully appreciated and in the "right" conditions. If you convert the car to run onnramp to offramp you'd never know the difference but in any competitive style driving you would.
It's amazing with how few "improvements" these can be transformed into cheaper but still moderately competitive versions of their more pedigreed cousins of the same 911 platform. Sorta, kinda.
So yeah, I wish I could still tailwag daily in canyons too! Oh well, now they are but fond memories. Cheers.

I would like to take it on the track but don't want to have to replace the clutch. It has 30k miles on the replacement as is. I will keep an eye out for local events though. I drove some roads in CA a few years back when I picked up a performance vehicle from the seller. Definitely fun.
McQueen had one of his 911's toggled, so he could kill the taillights on midnight runs, and I don't think the L.A.P.D. ever did catch him in their hot rod Plymouth Satellites!
It drizzled today and no driving so I adjusted my frunk latches, so the pneumatic gizmo snaps the latch open again! That's what I did today to my Porsche 996 Turbo.
Add: I just recently swapped out a clutch and it's a 5K$ hit so I hear ya. But you gotta drive it every chance you get. I fear this could be my final clutch replacement. But I've had 20 or so so. Yeah...

I joined the Mulholland Racing Association all the way back when Steve McQueen was a Porsche driving, card carrying member so yeah. Santa Monica Mountains are still some of the best driving terrain in the U.S.

I was looking for a Satellite in my younger days and ended up with a 440 Belvedere. Definitely no canyon carver but fun in a straight line.

My browser says we are only on page 748.
Anyway sorry for the diversions. I drove the car today and topped off the gas tank and a 1/2 quart of M1 5-50. Not a big day for 996 Turbo maintenance!
add: Just saw that AZUSA! I've been there. Once, I think. Their city motto is "A to Z in the U.S.A."
How that's for inspiration! I kid you not.

Nice! Man, that takes me back. It's no "Mulholland" car that's for sure. The cops had a hard time keeping up in twists against Mini-Coopers and 911's. I've had both. The canyons were "ours" and the freeways were theirs and the CHP. No one outruns LEO's on LA freeways!

Azusa looks to be in the foothills of some awesome mountains with great scenery. I landed at night, didn't really get to see it well for future inspiration.
"You can't outrun the radio" is the old expression, still true. I purchased 5W-40 for topping off and for my next oil change since it was a good bit cheaper in the 5 quart jugs. Hopefully no harm. As mentioned, I won't be tracking it.

Torqued up the wheels and rolled it into the bay. Going to be sunny soon, so I'll get some sunshine shots, run it around the yard a bit to make sure nothing is rubbing, so far, nothing is.

Have driven it around the yard, no immediate issues, letting it run for a bit, super super happy with the way the rims turned out against the yellow calipers....
