Not too sure how long Kenda has been around, I most certainly haven't heard of them until the other day, but tyres are a different beast, and without much knowledge out there about them, I would tread with caution.
I know a lot of off road trucks and such use Kenda tires.

If you had a bicycle, there's a good chance it had Kenda tires.

Interesting, never even heard of that application either.

Yes, it would appear that Canadian Tire moves a lot of them for bicycles, Big O and Cal Tire seem to carry them as well.

Anyone got a material list for the bits/polishing wheels I'd need to do this? I came across some old threads from Kevin @ UMW but it wasn't exactly specific.

A carbide bit and some sanding rolls. All you can really do is flatten out the welds inside the tubes. It might help a little bit.

I'm going to order a pair for rears and see. I figure they cannot be less optimal re noise and traction for me than either Toyo or Nitto's were, and the car and I survived that. I just hope they do not "howl" as one if not both of those brands were really awful. Almost like a failing wheel bearing, bad. Plus I've found them at $449.00 a pair! and that is the cheapest set of rears we could ever hope to find. The stats on the "load = 98 and speed rated = "W" are the same as the Falken's I've currently got on. I am hopeful if not confident and if they work and don't howl? I'll be saving a few hundred on the pair. Nothing wrong with that.

I find that the 660s that I just took off the car, especially when it's warm, are very loud on the highway - reminds me of the sound of suction cups being pulled off of glass quickly. That is my only real complaint about them, I understood going in that they'd be not great in the wet.

The 615 is a little more usable on a daily basis.

Interesting about the 660 and noise. The 615 got loud when worn. My car now has 660 and I've noticed a weird noise that I've thought was wheel bearings?, but it's only at like 65ish MPH exactly and I can drive around it. It's weird, but I've been meaning to switch wheels to see if tires were the issue.

Same speed for me - my hearing isn't the greatest, thus the suction cup analogy. Not a deal breaker by any means, just a high pitched repeating noise - doesn't do it in the wet, but is most certainly more noticeable when the road surface is above 25c.

Yes, like a resonance almost. It can get quite loud/almost feel it. My hearing ain't great either. At least I know it's prob tires.

That's it - most likely a combination of road surface, stickiness and chassis stiffness come together at just the right speed.

No tires are "louder" than Toyo or Nitto's I have found. Only noise I ever hear on Falken's is normal and exhaust note.

The older Yokohama A032Rs were pretty bloody loud too.

Thank you all for the input on the rear tires wearing faster than the fronts. It doesn't sound like an issue with the front diff.

The Falken FK510's seemed pretty good in the rain as well but I don't drive spiritedly when it's wet out.

I do believe that the oft mentioned 2:1 ratio rear to fronts is our platform "standard". some mileage may vary? but not by much. My fronts are barely 1/2 worn so I've actually hit a new milestone in 15 years of owning it. 2.5 pairs of rears to one set of fronts! Just when I'd like to save a bit on fungible wear items!

The tires that came with my car are about 3 years newer judging by the date code. I am not sure if the previous fronts had a puncture or what not. 2.5 rears is quite a lot. Is it RWD only?
