What did you do to your 996TT today?

A buddy of mine had a hardship posting in Nigeria and the DR Congo; he had a Hi Lux, but noted there were millions of the diesels in varying states of conditions. The Toyota truck is far and away one of the best off the floor 4x4s ever produced, they just go and go.
They are everywhere in Mexico too - all kinds of flavors, but I haven't seen a diesel other than a couple of Hi Lux so equipped.
In Africa, they're equipped with machine gun turrets, here they all seem to be set up for desert duty.

this might be my favorite Toyota “ad” as I have spent too much time in them overseas.

Yessir, everywhere he went (he works for Total), he had an armed guy in his car, and three or four guys following behind in a setup similar to the bottom right.
Interestingly, Total has a policy that he wasn't allowed to carry a weapon, despite being ex military.
Great ad.

Installed Blackvue DR970X with LTE. Tap into fuse box and connect to Expansion Pack Blackvue B-124X.

Just now catching up on this thread. Love the Toyota ad, and will share with buddies. Also love @theprf Macgyver solution to fuel gauge. Building village confidence in the 996TT platform one problem => solution at a time.

Still "neglecting" the Turbo, but the Cayenne got its lift kit installed. Finally.

Those look like air shocks....
Race Car
Eurowise and Dirt Pigs make lift kits, I think they go up to 4" total lift.
Most Cayennes have air shocks. The air ride cars have 5 height settings which cover -2.5 to +2.5" from "normal" and there's ways to trick it to get another inch.

Yup, lift kits are available from a couple places. Eurowise Offroad is the most popular vendor.

And yes, air suspension. Most Turbos and all GTS' have it, it was an option on the S and base models. It's a pretty robust system that tends to be trouble free, but like most things Porsche when something does go wrong it can get expensive quick. For offroading you're generally better off getting a rig without air suspension, but I do a lot of towing so I wanted the air (and I like the ride quality).

@KPexEA How much room do you have from the roof of your Honda Fit to the ceiling? My current ceiling is 9'6" and I think I'm at bare minimum spec...

Two things I'm really bummed about on my Land Cruiser. Elsewhere in the world you could get it with a V8 twin turbo diesel, which gets twice the mpg, which I would've totally bought. Toyota also had an option for an 11 gallon secondary gas tank for the rest of the world, which given that all we got here was an incredibly thirsty gas V8, it would've been awesome if they'd just installed it as standard for us
Nice 200! Here's our two land cruisers (not in front of my house). My wife drives the 200, and the 100 is just our offroading/exploring/camping rig when we go on more gnarly trails. The 200 has a LRA 24 gallon aux tank which is so awesome to have, highly recommend getting one. She fills up once a month.
