Because you need a technical inspection & permit for everything here in Germany when becoming road legal, the official test sheet reports 530hp with the stock exhaust.
And because I'm running a Cargraphic R Type Exhaust with Sport Cats I guess it migth be at the upper end of the range.

Bought the Kit for 3 k€ [~3250 $] with documented 15 tmls .... a bargain I would say. Transforms the 420 hp standard into a WLS+
Now loosing grip on the rear axle even in 3rd...

Could have several causes.... sometimes the fuel level sensor gets mechanically sticky over the years. I noticed that on the wifes car, when adding only a few gallons - needel position in the gauge remained unchanged. When topping up it suddenly changed to the correct value.
Sometimes also the ejector pump transporting the fuel from one tank to the other seems 'varaible' in terms of performance

Is that the axles you bought to disassemble to use the front portion for a rwd conversion?

What a nightmare this airbox/y-pipe project is turning out to be. The different position of the throttle on multiple axes using the GT3 intake manifolds compared to the Turbo manifold is making things incredibly difficult. I may end up having to make a custom airbox that is fed from the decklid scoops vs using the OEM airbox. In positive news, a big box of 4" titanium piping/bends/mufflers/flanges/etc arrived, so custom exhaust should be coming together soon.

You're going to run a 4" exhaust? Wow, what kind of power is that making?

Somewhat on the fence with the RWD conversion - I can see on the axle how I would chop it up, but it would irritate me that the outside of the spindle would be 'unfinished', that is why I really like the Rennline solution - clean, and probably lighter. I'll have a closer look this weekend.

No idea on the power to be honest..It should make at least what pwdrhound made but at lower boost, maybe more if we push it, or will there be some other limiting factor that we find as we go past 8000 rpm, lot of questions

The reasoning for 4" is I have to run mufflers to meet requirements at a couple tracks I go to (2 have decibel limits, and one of those 2 requires a muffler even if the car is under the sound limit). I was going to do 3.5" like pwdrhound's exhaust, but turns out there is no 3.5" inlet/outlet muffler that fit the packaging constraints I'm working with, but there are tiny 4" titanium race mufflers available, so now we are working with 4" titanium instead of 3.5" 321SS. Go figure. I am also thinking the muffler 4" will probably have similar flow to the straight pipe 3.5"? It won't hurt considering the power and rpm is up there.. although I think I could roll a tennis ball through these, so probably not too restrictive. More of a muffler in the technical sense of the word than functional. If I don't meet the decibel limits, I'll make some turn downs or something that I can slip over and clamp on at those tracks and angle the outlet away from the sound meters. Or lift and coast

Yeah I hear you on the unfinished. It'd get to me also.

4" will flow a lot, should also keep the EGTs in check too - I run a 4" on my 6.4l and I am good for about 750hp, EGTs are very cool when cruising, around 600f, peak at 1300ish under load.

Does a 4" 'race' muffler actually muffle much?

I can't imagine it does. Maybe change the tone more than change the volume. I had a 4" exhaust with a straight through muffler on Supra I built many many years ago and no one would've called that quiet. Just have to "have a muffler" to pass tech, and calling the turbochargers rotating variable mufflers didn't fly

Hey 2 - how’s the starting/battery issue coming along? Any more problems after replacing the starter?

Turbos ARE mufflers...

I got the same effect on my Acura; ran a side dump for a time, sounded like an F1 car when they were still cool. It's going to be interesting to see how yours comes together.

Cheers,

Yes, they most certainly were - I will unpack and have a go through them on the weekend and report.

Initial thoughts are they seem well made.

Ditch the airbox.

After some discussion and brainstorming with pwdrhound yesterday, we are going to put a custom airbox in the cabin on the parcel shelf, fed outside air by cutting a naca duct through the passenger side rear quarter window. I already run the Cup polycarbonate quarter windows so not a big deal to add the duct and hose to feed the airbox. This frees up space to properly size and design a Y pipe vs having to choose between making it fit a tight space or what is best for performance.

Nah. Nothing to gain by ditching it and a lot to lose. Filters on turbos isn't a good setup for anything outside of drag cars- too much heat, lack of proper filtration, and water ingestion. I've been running that and I found some things I wasn't happy with and shot a message to K&N and they told me directly they do not recommend their filters and filter socks for use in the conditions I described.
