I’m gonna fab that adapter up in fusion 360to the sliders dimensions and have sendcutsend fab it up out of stainless for me. Slightly more work but will be cheaper and more satisfying, I think.

Agreed! Of course once you figure out the recipe, it is more easily repeatable, but change one ingredient and your often back to the races....

(do I have enough mixed metaphors in that reply?)

Making the seatbelt receptacle fit just so is another challenge to keep in mind. The GT3 seats use a longer one.

Caught a 45 degree day and went for a drive. Man my car is so good. I'll have to get a video of some of these roads I drive here in Idaho, they are incredible.

Finally got around to doing new brakes all around, and then got the oil changed.... nothing huge, but slowly tackling a laundry list of "little items".

I like Idaho roads, and, their speed limits.

I'm about to do same on brakes. Mind if I ask what brand rotor pad combo you went with? I have always used either Zimmerman or ATE rotors ( least expensive OEM replacements ) and Textar ( again OEM equivalent ) pads but last swap the "squeal" was annoying to the point of embarrassment.

The latest iteration of pads seems to have been "improved"? and I might try those "dampers" too. Latest iteration of Textar's have larger backing plate/surface area, and it's been a few years so I cannot recall if I had the "newer improved" pads or not. "Anti-Squeal" Textar's is a joke that tells itself.

Also, did you replace all the hardware? I did not last time, so probably will this time. Lot of questions! But thanks in advance for any advice you ( or anyone? ) can offer.

I’ve been happy with the brembo stuff. The ceramic pads are quiet and bite decently with lower dust. I saw earlier that e euro parts has a full kit for less than 500$. On the hardware I would replace it. My caliper bolts were slightly off compared to the new so I believe these are one time use. I’ve also done the fcp euro kits that are “all in one”. Your call on piecing together or buying as a package.

I have no need for anything beyond the stock parts(?) I realize the calipers are Brembo but am confused by a "full kit" for $500.00?

Pads and rotors all corners and all hardware are only come to about $700 maybe $750 tops with all new hardware? If I keep using what all the online retailers call "OEM" replacements. My only concern is the "squeal" of Textar's. I guess I won't know until I replace them. I don't remember seeing "New and Improved" in the product descriptions when I last did brakes but that was at least 6/ 7 years ago.

This is the verbiage

Brake Pad Set

$98.30

Part Number: 99635294903 Notes: Equivalent to the current (new) OE design. Backing plate with larger mass and balance weights added to reduce noise.

I meant they have a full kit of front and rear rotors and pads and sensors for less than 500. All brembo parts which are oem quality. The hardware kits are I think are less than 100$ for front and rear. I thonk 60$ front and $40 rear if memory serves me correct. 600 all in is a good price. The textars are fine but very dusty. I’ve been running the brembo ceramic pads for about 3k miles now and love them and the minimal dust compared is a nice bonus.

That's most certainly one thing I am envious of with cars equipped with standard brakes - cheap to maintain.

I spent $1400 usd doing just the pads and hardware on the pccbs.

Thanks for that info. It's never occurred to me to look into ( try ) ceramic pads for thinking they might be a component of PCCB's, but will look into them. As to "dust", wheel residue, it's a non issue for me as these roads I drive are the dirtiest semi-truck traveled highways I've ever seen. It's the wretched Textar squeal I'm hoping to avoid. But that's in high temps mostly and during what little stop/go driving I do now.

As to that Brembo "kit". I'd gladly pay $500/600 for it pre-assembled etc and yes, the bracket part kits are only 100 F&R. and I'm just going to go again with the ATE rotors ( like $85 X2 and $120 X 2 ) Cheap and they lasted 6+ years so sure got money's worth there! I've never used those pad "dampers", as near as I can remember? Might try those too.

Here’s the link. They have the best prices and service I’ve run in to as of late. Even had a part mixup situation and they handled it unbelievably well and super fast shipping and refunds etc.

That's really helpful and competitively priced. Here's a Sebro kit listed from FCP-Euro but uses a seemingly mixed bag of stuff, incl Porsche branded and for pads lists Jurid ( never used them before.. ) and also Pagid's as OEM(?) but that is down to the shims and bolts which I think are one time use if memory serves. I might do better $ going through the hassle of grabbing individual parts, but certainly not by much.

Thanks again, for that link/info.

Pagid's and textar's are basically OEM pads in a different box. I think I have textars now and they're great street pads.

I came across a thread in the gt2/gt3 forum about using the durametric tools datalogging capabilities to identify boost leaks by comparing the targeted and actual values for boost.

does anyone have any experience doing this? If so..what would be the delta between the two that would identify a leak?
