Ill add, it would have been the right thing to do, I would just like Linwood be pretty disappointed in the service.

I was once helping a buddy buy a car. We went to the Kia dealer first, then looked at a Honda. The KIA had way better warranty then the Honda. The Honda salesman asked for the warranty we were offered at the KIA dealership, his response was that he couldnt match that warranty, because Hondas dont break down, they dont need to give out warranty for extended amounts of time. For some reason reading this, brings back memories to this classic. I dont need to stand behind my product because it last forever.

There are a ton of them. The challenge was to find one that had the same speed. The link I posted sells all the parts for them as well, the limit switch, motor, and other internal items. I am working on getting parts in to repair it. I will follow up when it is fixed.

The "why" question was related to why Dave should run his business differently from anyone else's? He offers a two year warranty, and is completely upfront about it. Why should people who post on Rennlist get special treatment?

I would've bought the Honda, because they don't break down.

....I think the benchmark is the original system. The hydraulics typically last 20 years.... and in case someone advertises his new system to be better and less troublesome at a remarkable price, I would assume a similar lifespan than the stock system.

Dave builds eRam kits not only for the 996TT but also for the 997TT and Carrera GT. To this point in time 99%+ of the units sold have been trouble free and some of those units have been in service for 10 years.

My OEM hydraulics crapped out after 10 years/35k miles so I'm not sure how sure how some are saying they are good for 20 years.

Linwood unfortunately was very unlucky, I feel for him and have zero problems with anything he has posted. In fact I thank him for educating himself, and all us as well, on sourcing replacement parts for the eRams.

Anecdotal evidence is not very useful here.

Your OEM system lasted 10 years, mine 20, and im sure everyone else has a different experience.

Linwoods eRams lasted 2 years, and yours lasted longer.

Maybe you were unlucky on the OEM and lucky on the eRam, who knows.

Its great we have several options to go now for spoiler repair, that are quite different in terms of solution and the willingness of suppliers to stand behind their solution in terms of warranty and service.

Good news, Honda still has some cars on the lot for you.

Anyway Dave doesn't have to run his business any different. Im sure the lawyers are on his side and yes he is upfront about it, just like he is upfront that it is the only final solution (for 2 years apparently). I'm just expressing my opinion, not sure why you are so worked up over it.

If the OEM hydraulics last 20 years how has Dave been able to sell hundreds of eRam kits over the past tens years if the oldest 996TTs are just now turning 20 years old?

I am not worked up about anything. You quoted and replied to me and I in turn replied to you.

All good. Im not on rennlist everyday, so i had not seen it until now . Catching up and saw some interesting posts, hence i replied, isnt that what a forum is for? Or is there a 2 day window where you can reply on rennlist, i have to admit im not always familiar with the small lettering like you seem to be.

Anecdotal, because your system worked for 10 years, it doesnt mean others can't for 20 years. Mine did, and apparently it survived some eRams. Not sure what you are after, other than driving the sale of eRams. I'm going to leave it here, this discussion is not going anywhere.
