Two weeks ago a friend of mind borrowed my front headlamps to pass MOT, Now another friend needed the rims to pass....

Mounted some 19 BBS CHR. I think 19” wheels look great on 996’s

Yeah, it was your review along with others who made me want them. These P2S just do not have any traction. I have a good buddy driving the One Lap of America this week in his 9GT2. He did the autocross today and said they were phenomenal. I am looking forward to having some traction when I get them.

You make a lot more power than I do, I'll be curious to hear how they wear on your car.

It has been pretty miserable here, cold and wet, so I have not yet had a chance to really get them warm, but I am most certainly looking forward to it.

Went to the track, first time with the track alignment and Guards rear LSD, still have AWD. It was cold and windy, I wasn't on my race tires, it was my first event of the season and I wasn't feeling it. Despite all of that I ran within 2 seconds of my personal best and the Garmin Catalyst said my hypothetical best lap would've been faster than my personal best. Well, alrighty then, apparently the rear LSD and track alignment made a big difference!

I have not been on a track with the LSD, however, I could tell immediately that the addition of an LSD made the car rotate and exit, much better than with an open diff.

Bravo!

Question final interior question

so much nicer to drive! Your car looks amazing!!
The car does looks amazing. I'm confused though by the order of the photos. It looks like you started with the carbon wheel/trim and the original radio/DSP unit, then changed out the carbon wheel/surround and put in a double DIN radio (maybe a Porsche PCM?). Or did you go the other way and reinstall the older radio unit for originality?

I did a double take on the pictures but couldn’t see what you mentioned. I only changed to a short shift kit. Stereo in it is aftermarket with Bluetooth which looks to be an older unit but works well. Shift kit is a great addition. I would highly recommend it for anyone on the fence. Not a bad job to do either.

I change the steering stock controls the other day because one of the was loose. Disconnected the battery and all for about 30 minutes prior to starting the job. Got everything back together nicely and started the car up and now I have the dreaded airbag failure light on! Sucks. Don’t know how to reset that one.

also, I finished up a decent detail start to the interior with leatherique on the seats and did a shampoo and extraction of the carpets. They didn’t have any stains on them but boy was the water that came out of those carpets dirty! I finished off by installing new floor mats from suncoast. They look nice and stock just the way I like them.

have a few more projects to go:

1. Motor mounts. Exhaust sits about 1 3/8 inches below the cutout on the bumper. I have the 964 rs kit from suncoast but I’m a little chicken to try it myself.
2. Transmission mounts. Same as above.
3. Want to get oem wheels and tires. Still trying to source a good set for a reasonable price.
4. Exhaust. Want to upgrade to a nicer aftermarket one with no drone. Yet another thing that’s a bit hard to find.
5. Full exterior detail and paint correction.
6. Remove window tint. It’s nice but I don’t like it generally. Funny thing is,I have 3 cars with the stuff on them. Ugh!

if I get this stuff done, it should be a great summer!

I washed my car for the first time in at least two months and wiped down the interior with some 303. Just in time for it to rain today...
