What did you do to your 996TT today?

Sometimes if the tread itself isn't direction, those arrows are for reference only so you always run them in the same direction when unmounting/remounting rather than any difference in the tire itself that necessitates a particular direction... eg: you could likely run them with the arrows facing backwards as long as you *always* run that set with the arrows facing backwards...
Or is the tread itself not symmetrical forward/backwards?
Or is the tread itself not symmetrical forward/backwards?
And now I know, so I think there will be some improved wet weather performance.

I just bought my first Porsche last month, a 2001 996 TT in speed yellow with 21,000 miles. The first thing I did was buy a Durametric software kit. It is much better than the cheaper OBD types, which are mainly for emission control use. It will clear the airbag code, when they won't.
The second thing I did was join PCA. I've been to a couple events already (dinner and breakfast). I sat with another 996 TT owner at breakfast yesterday, and we talked about exhaust. I've got the standard exhaust on mine, and am not real enthused about the sound. But I don't want it crazy loud either. I mentioned SpeedTech, and this guy has their 2.5 inch "Quiet" X-cellerator Exhaust System-Sound Level 1. That's the one I was interested in. It's his second exhaust (had an x-pipe with no muffler first time), and the first was too loud and droned on long trips. He switched to this one, and it sounds great with no drone. It's the one I'm going to buy. http://www.speedtechexhausts.com/ast1_012.htm
Good luck with the other work.
