What did you do to your 996TT today?

No unfortunately. I wanted to make my own vision of a 959. So I’m utilizing carbon fiber and carbon Kevlar where I can (which is essentially the whole car except for the deck lid and roof) and adding the front and rear axle lifters similar to what the 959 offered. I found out that the car was hit on the driver side which led to a lot of additional body work than planned. I was stopping at f/r bumpers, hood, doors, and wing. When we went to put the doors on we started noticing a lot of issues with fitment. Intercoolers weren’t seated properly and the doors weren’t fitting flush. So we concluded that it had to of been hit and was repaired out of pocket because the carfax has nothing on it. When we priced out the cost of a new quarter panel from Porsche it was more for the one side than for both sides in carbon. I’d like to do a write up on the history of the car sometime soon.

Neat project, despite finding the irritation of covered up repairs.

@Rvca3112 Very very neat project, personally I am obsessed with fiber composite materials. Specifically carbon, kevlar and aramids. Your car is a thing of beauty, I just love looking in the fenders seeing where the metal and fenders meet! It's a shame you have to cover up the pieces with fender liners or coatings? True nerd definition of #carporn.

Thanks so much! I’ve learned so much from this whole process. What we’re actually going to do with the wheel wells is put 2 layers of PPF inside so that it’s exposed. Also the intercooler duct work is all carbon Kevlar which is going to be exposed. Also the underside rear part of the body gets where the intercooler meets gets cut out and the body acts like a wind tunnel for cooling the intercooler.

Met up with some friends early Saturday for a beautiful rip through the foothills of Mount Rainier. It was a perfect sunny and cool fall morning and we pretty much had the roads to ourselves for a good portion of the drive.

Very nice; the addition of a police escort must have been helpful.

Short of rear 1/4's and front fenders which are staying steel yes. I will be down later this month most likely with the Clubsport cage to have it painted and some other things Markus needs for the car. At this juncture figure the entire build should be complete early summer 2023, since the body stuff is only part of the entire thing.
