Ahh don't feel bad. Been looking at mine for a few weeks now waiting for oil lines from Germany behind with all this shipping mess.

I can only imagine what you are dealing with. I had the same wait a couple years ago when I had the k16s put on. It paid off big time though, they came out with no issues at all!

I gave up waiting on BW in Germany; I ordered fresh K24s and 20 months later, nary a word.

Failed Mass safety inspection because the windshield washer doesn't work. The washer pump seems to be defunct. If you happen to be in this situation, the washer pump from a 1998 VW Beetle is the same part: $24 at Autozone.

Default Hate finding things buggered up by previous mechanic

Not something I noticed when inspecting Turbo when I bought it, but when I changed oil recently I came across this on one of the Turbo reservoir drain plugs.
It was buggered up on inside to the point of it wasn't coming out no matter what. Previous owner had it serviced at local non Porsche dealer.

Previously tightened w Gorilla hands using wrong wrench I guess. I got it off w Vice Grips as I wanted to replace it as soon as I could.

Couple of New plugs/Rings from RM Euro and we're back to new.

When I first read this I thought you meant the headlight washer which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. The windshield washer is slightly less ridiculous. I replaced mine with the same VW pump this spring when mine went bad also.

So in Mass. (or states that have the same safety code regarding the windshield washer system) does law enforcement make people use the washer system? Could someone pass the safety inspection and never use the windshield washer even when the windshield is dirty? Is it against code to have a dirty windshield?

What kind of wrench is used to remove this plug? Looks like a Phillip's screwdriver.

All I can say is that obviously I have never used the windshield washer or I would have noticed it wasn't working. There is a long list of "safety" items that supposedly get checked yearly here in MA, and the windshield washer is on the list. Ostensibly the safety inspection is to keep cars that are total junk off the streets, although I doubt it's actually successful.
Some thing that are supposedly checked: suspension play, wheel bearing play, seat belts, mirrors, the list goes on and on.

In New York City taxis and limousines can be ticketed for a dirty windshield. The law probably extends to all motor vehicles but it is never/rarely enforced with private vehicles.
