Last weekend was entirely 991 turbo. Today it was awesome getting back into the 996!

Even at our current covid-inflation driven prices, a properly set up 996 Turbo is still IMHO wildly under-appreciated and under-valued. It *never* fails to put a huge smile on my face on a spirited mountain drive!

Great variety of cars today. Couple of 458 Italia's, 991.2 Turbo S, 3.2 Carrera wide body, and of course 996 Turbo.

Went for a nice 3 hour cruise with hundreds of turns through the mountains of northern NV with my local car club. Not pictured are a few other gems including a pantera, huracan, R8, and GTR.

Thank you.

My own design, cut for me, based on the 2005 GT2 OEM design.

Did a private track day this weekend at a small, local track. I had the 991 Turbo at the same track a few weeks ago, and can say for sure that I had more fun in the 996 Turbo! About a second and a half slower around the circuit, but so visceral and just a hoot to drive. The 991 was also a hoot, but you really need to push it hard for the fun to kick in, while the 996 Turbo was a hoot even when not trying for best lap times...

Yeah, not bad for a $9 application (pro version). Base version is free...

Took it from a run out to Chilliwack, before the heat wave got crazy... it was 34c up there by 0930... crazy indeed.

A couple of things impressed me about the drive, one, is how remarkable programming the tune to the fuel available in my area and how smooth the power delivery is now. The second was on the 200km loop, the car returned 24mpg and nominal cruise (up to 85mph ish.), which was 1.3mpg better than my best recorded mileage at 22.7mpg - all this improvement in 100 degree weather. Very impressive.

It was also nice that traffic wasn't too bad, I really, really like this platform, its engine and how it makes me feel when I drive it.

It's true. This is one of the fastest cars I've owned but gets the best MPG of any of the cars I've ever owned. It's really great.

I was thinking after I posted that, the number could of in fact been higher with a more 'restrained application' of the gas, it was still seeing upwards of 85 pretty easily. I think if I set the cruise at 62mph, (100KMS) and not touch it, may be helpful.
