I also have my 996 Turbo rear seats fully removed. Gives quite a bit more storage space and just looks better IMHO.
It's frustrating that it is much more of a hassle to remove the rear seats in the 991 Turbo! The bottom cushions are attached to the center portion as a single piece, so removing it leaves unfinished body underneath. Takes $1,000+ worth of GT3 trim pieces to finish it off decently...
I saw that with the trim pieces, and if I am not mistaken, the center cover piece says GT3 on it... So I have been just using them in the folded down position.
But in the 996, lots of space without them - can travel quite comfortably, AND, if one of your 12" wide wheels lets go, it fits behind the passenger seat quite nicely...

Correct, but it is embroidered and comes in different thread colors... if you get the dark grey on black carpet, not very noticeable. Or you could take your time with a stitch ripper and remove the GT3 logo. Or, as you have done and I am still doing, just leave the factory seats in on the 991!
I used to put a winter glove on the control yoke of my airplane - the yoke was aluminum and it got COLD in the winter and HOT in the summer. Also you don't have a lot of choice but to hold it if you plan to fly.
I bought a 996 Turbo specifically because it has rear seats. That way my son can ride with me. If I'd wanted a 2 seater I would've looked into a GT3 or Cayman GT4...
I just ordered a BFI **** in hopes it would fix this problem with my OEM Aluminum **** in this TX heat!

So warm, in fact, that my fancy new shift **** was scorching to touch.
Someone mentioned they had made a little hat for theirs, I have discovered a way to recycle masks....
I have been wanting to remove my rear seats and add a roll bar, but my son will be destroyed (4 y/o), even though he does not often go on rides with me
