I signed up for a Shift Sector 1/2 mile race on the 5th of June in San Antonio. This should be fun...

I would LOVE to do a half mile race. None happening within reasonable distance of me though.

Does anyone know what a stock 996 Turbo will do (approximately) in terms of speed in a 0.5 mile race? Altitude, temperature, and wind make a difference so I'm speaking in general terms.

I have been looking for this particular answer for my modified car. A stock one seems to hitting 140s from what I found during my search.

The 140s seem reasonable.

I like to see what my EVOMS stage 2 would trap.

A local guy said he ran 156mph in a standing 1/2 miles in his 2020 Shelby GT500. I reckon a mild to moderately modified 6TT could do better, based on results from highway pulls against him and another modified GT500.

Morning drive up Squaw Pass to Echo Lake ((10,600'), the base of Mt. Evans.

The road to the top of Mt. Evans wont open for at least another few weeks (road goes to 14,160', highest paved road in North America).

The Turbo scoffs at the altitude, seemingly saying 'Bring it on...' The CGT 5.7L NA V10 didn't miss a beat either!

Nope... Passenger only, which is still pretty cool.. I've driven many of the owners other cars, but not the CGT or F40.
