What was 'mickey mouse' about your previous GT2 conversion? Yes it's pretty stiff, just like a 996 GT2 or GT3 would be. But very precise and consistent, loads better than the feel of the boosted setup. Do make sure you change your clutch pedal assist spring to the 'red' GT2/GT3 spring as well if doing the conversion.

I was told that the job was done not to spec/capped off improperly by the local Porsche dealership (and I took it to the indy who ended up completing it who said something similar). Then, we went back to stock everything at that time because the clutch feel was ridiculously heavy, and I wasn't enjoying driving the car that much since it was a chore. But, with the stock setup, I complained then it was TOO light, but eventually, I stopped noticing it and was fine with it.
I may just take Dock's suggestion and go with bypassing the clutch switch, since isn't the pressure buildup before the car is on the main cause of the failure?

Can't see any good reason to do the BBi slave conversion vs. just going OE GT2 slave conversion if you are pulling the transmission anyway... Cheaper, factory correct, and no bracket flex. Pretty much the only advantage of the BBi is if you are trying to do it without pulling the transmission.

I think it's more about preventing pressure depletion in the accumulator by not using the accumulator pressure when the pump isn't running.
I personally prefer the GT2 feel than the overboosted Turbo slave. My slave was visibly leaking when the transmission was pulled to do the clutch, so it was either put in another stock slave (expensive, and would likely leak/fail again) or do the GT2 mod. The GT2 slave is so much less expensive than the Turbo slave that it pays for a good deal of the modification labor as well.

I disagree with Paul, I can't stand the feel of the GT2 clutch setup. It's far too heavy, especially if you drive the car in any sort of traffic. If all you use your car for is track use and occasional canyon runs it'll be fine but the GT2 clutch setup really negatively impacts the everyday usability and civility of the car.
I still need to do that clutch switch bypass, anyone have some good pics of the harness I need to bypass?

The tranny isn't broken... it behaved in a manner that made me want to stop drinking beer, and of course, buy a new one with nifty gears and a Wavetraq...

Sounds pretty simple... shouldn't be an issue...
