I dont think I'll be applying cosmoline, but the "cleaner" did spray Boe-shield T9 on the exposed metal and gave it a quick wipe. it has a clear, but sticky feel to it. I happen to have a full can at home, so once in a while, I may give it a shot.

It does sound like a sports exhaust has been fitted. There is a little more mechanical noise in the cabin when stationary and at very low speeds but it is in no way unpleasant, infact it's a nice noise. Not noticed any vibration, infact a rattle in my door seems to have stopped. All in all no regrets so far. I'll give it a week of use as my daily and see how I feel but currently I'd say do it. So easy to fit it really is just the cost of the mounts and your time.
Sounds like exactly what I am looking for. I have owned several air cooled 911s. My 996 TT is my first water cooled and while I love it I feel something is missing in the "feel". This motor mount switch sound perfect. I just ordered a set. Thanks.

I changed mine to the Torque Solutions about 6 months ago and I feel the exact same as you...The car feels more complete now.

when changing the motormounts, I would suggest doing something about the tranny mount. At least consider the 997TT setup. Together they transform the feel of the car.

I am running the 997 SSK, and while expensive, I sometimes have a hell of a time shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 at very high (near redline) RPMS quickly. Also, downshifts are a bit of a pain and non-deterministic.

I think that the synchros in 1st gear are a bit wonky for me, so perhaps my problematic shifting is due to my tranny.

If I shift at "normal" ranges (i.e., between 3000 and 4000 rpm), there are no issues (except for the 1st gear issue).
I switched from a B&M SSK, which was on the car when I bought it. It had considerable side to side play and the Numeric feels much more precise. I haven't had the chance to really drive it more than 5-10 miles, and no upper RPM driving yet. Its been raining all week.

replacing TWO new PS2's in recognition of the berm i nicked "barely" but enough apparently to have ruined the integrity of the sidewall which now has a section of radial cord poking thru!

so lemme see..so.. (2) michi ps2's mount, balance, and align. a quick $1150.00: = a typical weeks spend for this car! ~

+1. I installed the RSS motor mounts with the 997 trans mount.

The new mounts made the Numeric shifter even better.
