What are the two round holes behind the the front grill?
Brake cooling ducts. I can't remember the company that made them back in the day, but only a few people have them and they're impossible to find (I tried). Overall not difficult to make yourself, but the hard part is the backing plate which sits on the inside of the rotor...nobody makes that.
i stripped it manually with a claybar then sprayed 99% IPA with distilled water 50/50 over the car and soaked it up with a really thick microfiber towel. I don't like using DA polishers as I want to keep as much of the original clear coat as i can until it gets really bad then I'll use a rotary.
I polished with wurth pink wax as it has abrasives in it, then used meguiars ultimate paste wax on top, then used ultimate detailer gloss over that.
The wurth pink wax is a really good sealer it just doesnt last long if there isnt a wax on top. This process hides the plethora of nicks and chips on the paint from normal sunglight, though you can see them with a bright torch.
Car looks nice. I'd recommend after going through the process of a minor correction to ceramic coat the car. It's easy enough to do at home and will last up to a year (some claim more). This allows you to NOT touch the car in the future when cleaning it and prevents swirls from happening in the first place. The less you physically touch the car, especially black, the longer it will look impeccable.
Thank you fellas it’s been a blast being the OG owner and taking my track and canyon slammer to the opposite side of the spectrum of ownership. At my age it keeps me engaged and the OCD in check. The brake ducts were made by sportec I installed back in 02-03.

So last weekend when starting the car up, I noticed the clutch pedal was harder then normal, yep the accumulator was failing. Just turned 14,900 miles. When depressing the clutch, it felt like it was pulsating.. About a month ago I by-passed the clutch interlock, thinking it may buy me some time, guess not..
Ordered a replacement and swapped it out today, it wasn't too difficult. I spent more time cutting, grinding, and bending the wrenches to get them to fit. Also learned that the support bracket for the hoses needs to be removed as the accumulator can't be removed with it place. Will be ready for the next time.
After flogging the Turbo quite hard yesterday (wow, what a drive it was!), she earned the day off today and took her contemporary out for a *much* more leisurely fall drive.
A 2000 Z3 2.8 that I just picked up for about the price of a dealer oil change on the Turbo (jk...)
