You guys know there's a 15mm "nut" on that tensioner, right? You don't use the shallow nut that's in the center of the tensioner. I used a breaker bar with a 15mm on that, swung it over, pulled off the old belt, routed the new belt on, swung over my breaker bar again and popped the belt on the rest of the way. Done. Literally that easy.

I have my airbox out and you can see the tensioner pulley there in there center. It is the only one with the above mentioned 15mm nut in the center of it. If you zoom in on it you can clearly see it just above the gold trunk latch below. If you put a wrench on it and add counter clockwise pressure, it will rotate the tensioner pulley to the left thus releasing pressure on the belt making it effortless to remove. Literally takes 30 seconds.

Drove mine like a banshee yesterday.

But really just out testing my new radar detector with it. Bought an Escort IXc. So far, the detector sucks *****. Doesn’t blip until I am right on top of the gun for k or ka band. I’m messing with the settings this week. I’m fairly certain I overpaid for nothing.

of course, I’m just lining up on stationary radar points on the highway and moving way damn fast.

Hey fellas,

Is there any difference in the profiles for the satin black versus primed version of these side skirts?

If not, couldn't you just have a body shop prime and paint the satin skirts?

The reason I'm asking is because there's a huge price delta between the two, ~$200 for the satin vs. ~$1800 for the primed version, plus a 4 week wait to come from Germany!

Many thanks,

Ben

Satin black can be heavily primed and painted.

Thanks for the report, most don't state negatives about a new purchase so the transparency is appreciate. I have an older 8500, it works well but suffers from X band going off to much (google that known issue). Saved the wife and I countless times.

The best ones are the new Unidens, R1, R3 & R7. Around the same price as you paid, maybe not the R7. Can you return it and get one of these?

Are there supposed to be open ended pipes?

Depending on how it performs this week, I may be going this route.

they are closed pipes. Hemholtz resonators, aka anti drone tubes.
