I've been busy with my 996tt. Per a few DIY write-ups I found here, I popped off the accelerator pedal box and cleaned the moving parts. The throttle was noticeably sticky, especially driving around town. I pulled it off, pulled it apart, and after some cleaning with some rubbing alcohol and lithium grease; it's all back together and smooth as the day she left Stuttgart.

I also ordered up a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW tires. The mis-matched set on mine weren't great, especially the Yokohama fronts. I really wanted some Michelin PSSes, but the rears are back ordered for another few weeks. The Contis had a rebate and had a great price. I figure I can run them this winter and if I hate them, I'll have time to order up a set of MPSSes for spring.

Next, I need to see about getting the heating element replaced in the driver's seat. I think it went out last week.

Detailed it before winter (technically it was last Sunday but forgot to post pics)

Bought a GT3 alcantara shift ****. Will be wrapping the whole ebrake, arm rest, and steering wheel in the same color combo.

Put on winter wheels to drive the car through rain, ice and snow. And if in 20 years time the car dissipates in a cloud of rust, so be it.

Looking really sharp! How are you liking the shifter so far?

I get my new exhaust and tips on Monday... can't wait!

Took it out with the old man for a little cruise... he in his 1968 911S Sportomatic and me in the 996TT. It was a blast!

I've known the Irish green Porsche since I was born... love that color with the white Porsche race stripe! Car is running better now than I can ever remember and such a fun drive.

My fuel door hinge has been broken since the day I bought the car earlier this year. I finally got around to replacing the hinge and installing a fresh hinge spring to accompany it. Fuel door now works perfectly. Not a biggie, but a niggling detail that needed attention.
