I recently did the same thing with a Pioneer AVIC unit - went to double din Nav, bluetooth, etc. I matched the amber color, but still have to upload the Porsche logo for the screen. Plan to do it later this week.

It's a nice upgrade for the 996. I have not used it much due to winter storage, but really looking forward to finally being able to stream playlists and have up to date nav., etc. for the upcoming driving seasons.

Default Thinking about doing new wheel

Something like this would really make my interior not look so 2001. Not this one exact and not sure if If buy one done or buy a donor and build a flared side flat bottom. Anyone have any good wheel sources?

New oil temp sensor. 2nd thermostat in a year. New OEM prior installed stuck open. Weird.

These cars suck to work on.

Changed fuel filter. Pain in the *** looks dirty to me. 1st fuel filter I've ever changed but I assume black isn't a normal color for gas

I did relocate the AC unit - probably the easiest part of the whole process.

I originally bought the Suncoast double DIN system from Suncoast

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/9X6DDIN.html

but once I couldn't get the speakers to work - had to change out the amp - to the Alpine unit - but looking back on the process - I probably could have eliminated the amp and just direct connected the speakers to the head unit and just replace all the speakers. not a trivial job either.

I did end up changing the speakers to Alpine units - 4" for the rear and dash - 5 1/4" for the doors - sound much better than the bose speakers and it's really nice having the bluetooth - crystal clear phone and music now - and navigation with Apple Car play.

Looks like a factory unit.

Probably one of the better sources for connectors - help

I used cai too. But I didn't do any speaker work. They have great great customer service.
I did a backup camera too. Love it.
I cracked the trim around the edge (upper left hand corner) and they sent me another for free!!!! Awesome dudes.

Poured a little power steering oil in. Yep, that's about a big of a project as I've had in a while.

Did my first oil change since owing her. Big thanks to LVDell's DIY write up! I'm still amazed at the waterfall that comes out of the reservoir.
