Seems like you either go w/ ATE, Sebro, Zimmerman, PowerSlot, etc. for around $100, OEM or Deman for $300-$400, or Girodisc, PFC, Brembo, etc. for $650 and up.

I did not find anything on the Deman site about the rotors or any other parts but TRG and Paragon sell them. Bob, do you really think Deman has these made to their specs just for them? Seems unlikely - probably just branded.

FWIW I have 18 track days and close to 10,000 miles on my $105 Brake Performance Cayenne rotors. They have some checkering but I will get a few more events out of them. But overall I am not content w/ my braking - too much fade and pedal travel.
Check our site we have several options front and rear.

Currently we are running a Sale on the GT3 fitments.... Take $50.00 off any selection. These are cast for us to our specifications in CNY and machined in our state of the art machines.

You might go 2 or 3 sets of front rotors for a rear set on the 996GT3. I think many folks run OEM in the rear because of this. [997 is different on this ratio] I have run ATE/Brake Performance for the last 4 or 5 years. I had a Deman set before that. No issues either way. They all stop the car I was getting about 15 track weekends out of a set of rotors regardless of who made them. [FYI, COTA was one of the easiest tracks on brakes and tires for me]. Eagles canyon on the other hand...

[edit: here's a post from 2011 reporting on rotors I put on in 2010. Fronts got 15 weekends, rears barely had cracking... https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...-for-6gt3.html

Here's the preceding set of Deman rotors. I had these on in 2009-2010, then switched to ATE: https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...with-pics.html ]

I think we've all said it a few times: there is some benefit to having better equipment. But does that justify the cost? That is an individual question and folks go both ways on it.

A friend of mine at the track has a 997.1 GT3, and wants to replace his PCCB rotors and pads with steel. He's going to use stock/OEM Porsche rotors on the rear and would like to know if the 997.1 GT3 can use the same aftermarket Cayenne rotors on the front as for our cars. A quick check of parts listings on Pelican indicates that both cars have front rotors with 350mm diameter and 34mm offset. If so, the 997.1 should also be able to use the Cayenne rotors. Can anyone here confirm that's correct?

Thanks for the reply. His car came from the factory with PCCB rotors. Looking at your website, it seems to show 380 mm discs as the replacement for PCCB cars. Am I reading the info incorrectly?

The 997 PCCB's started off 350 F/R the switched to the 380/350. Being a 997.1 his car should be 350/350.

My car has front Cayanne rotors and seems to work/fit perfect. 350mm 7.1 GT3

If he has PCCB on his 997.1 GT3. The cayenne rotors of 350mm will not fit.
If they did i would be using them while i await my 2 pc 380mm steel rotors to arrive....

I suppose they will fit but only half of the brake pad will actually touch the rotor.

Reference for your buddy... i'm on this dilemma myself. PCCB 380mm weigh 12lbs. Cayenne 350mm weight about 30lbs. FYI.

Incorrect. 997.1 GT3 PCCB started at 380mm and remain at 380mm.

OK, what I've gotten from all this is that for DE use you are just wasting money buying even step-up rotors, not to mention 2-pc. ones. Sounds like many vendors of custom or branded rotors just buy a blank from someone like Zimmerman or Sebro and machine them in a different way, adding cost.

I have GT3 6-pistons on front and OEM Cayman S in rear w/ PCCB master cylinder, PFC 08/011 pads, steel lines, and SRF. Still more fade and travel than I like. I'll be switching to PFC fluid and see how that does. And trying to use less brakes.

I have had early 997.1's PCCB cars in my shop that were factory 350 fronts.

we have our rotors cast for us at a local foundry to our specifications while utilizing OEM sizing. We then bring the raw castings in house were we Fully machine them ourselves.

As stated previously, I purchased slotted rotors from brake performance, they lasted 9 track days. Himself reported that ATE front rotors may last 15 weekends.
I will buy the ATE next as cost is about 60% more but duration seems to be 3 times vs the rotors from Brake performance. Although, the 9 track days includes 3 days at COTA which is very hard on brakes.
