Sounds good! (what part of So CA are you in?)

I agree. The gum I initially used to seal the hole fell out anyway.

Sara will be at the AX in the Cayman. My parents will be visiting from Baltimore, so I have to miss that AX. I'll definitely catch the next one, though.

ive got a 2.5L boxster engine with the same exact hole in the cam cover, in pretty much the same exact spot. haven't had time to tear that engine down yet but probably the same type of failure.

good to see the engine replacement finally happening. shouldn't be too long now before you get to fire it up once more.

What's with the adds popping up in the thread?

What's the longest thread so far in Rennlist? 38 pages and counting has to be up there.

The shop was initially recommended to me a couple years ago by RL member Niche. Yeah, they work on all my Porsches.

Shouldn't that be Porschez?

Actually, I think it should be "Porschi."

It's doing good. I drove it to the PCA Zone 8 concour this past weekend in Temecula. Need to get the idle tweaked a bit though... once it warms up, the idle drops too low.

I've been trying to find it in the thread, but is there a final prognosis on what happened to the original engine? Was it timing chain related (as the hole in the chain cover seems to indicate)?

Sorry for the loss, but glad to see you're taking it in stride.
