WHEW!

I saw a 996 in front of me close to my house and thought it was Jack911 as I just saw him at the shop.... I "hurried up" to see (its a 25 zone so maybe I did 30-33ish) anyhow I caught him at a light and it was Mark (they guy I posted who is selling his car for $15k on craigslist)

Anyhow a friendly wave out the windows and off we went our own ways when I notced a COP right on my a$$ - AWE CRAP! another 25 zone so I am cool and about 25... (you know these old cras are tough to be super accurate), stop, turn to a 30 zone, still riding me... almost home.... turn down my dead end street - he follows, to my culisack where I do a 180 so I can back in to the garage - he's right in front of me.... I back into the drive and get out

he drives off....

WHEW!!

Not sure if I really did anything he saw or it was just suspissous that we opened our windows and waved, sort of drove almost side by side as I turned right and he went straight... but happy I didnt have to deal with that today!!

Hope everyone is having good stories, thought it would be fun to re-visit these

LOL @ this one,....

I stopped off for some scones on the way to work, a nice French bakery near my home. There was a new "kid" behind the counter I had not seen before after he had my order packed, and is ringing me up he says (in a very heavy accent) " iz two toughsand"

I wasnt expecting what he asked and gave a look of "what" so he repeated himself - iz two thoughsand...."

"or two toughsand five maybe"

I finally get he is asking a date... but for what - he then points and says "your Porsche, iz two toughsand?"

OMG I smiled and told him a no it is 1986

he compliments the car and says it looks like new. - As I drove off I saw him in the window waving and talking to the other gal....I think he might be one of the truely afflicted and his date of ownership is only a decade or two away

sorry, it was kinda a 996 story

Are you sure he was not just asking how many spare parts you had in your garage?

So, Drive the 996 to work today..

I am heading up Route 17 in NJ on my way to the office and get stuck behind van with ladders on top of it.... Yes as you can guess one of the ladders comes off. This thing sails over my car, over the center divider and BANG right onto the other side of the road, I am unsure if anyone hit it.
All I can say is I think I lost 10lbs.... all of it brown.

I guess the 996 saved my life, If I had been in the Cayenne it probably would have hit me.
Not the first time something like this has happened.

Wow! Glad that it missed you!

I've always been afraid of that and always drive a ways back from any vehicle that has anything that might come loose.

I want it closer to the exhaust... I think I'll put it under the rear deck lid and close it up...

Ed - If I would have the same set up, you wouldn't be able to see anything worth while due to the **** roads we have here! Way to bumpy!

Tonite on the way home from work and heading to my local barley pop store for some medicine. I'm on a local state road highway. I come up to a 80' Monte Carlo. Get next to him. The Monte his sitting kinda funny...than I find out why. The car has hydraulics on his car and he starts to hop the car to the point where the front is a foot and half off the ground. This was at 60 MPH!!! We looked at each other and both us had some big grins going.

holy sheeat, I never saw anything like that... scary and cool all at once...I am guessing you didnt drive along side him too long out of fear that something might fly off his car and burst into flames!!

:roflamo:

I bet that was some sight to see though
