today... I met up with a fellow RL member for a nice long coffee break around lunch time...

got to say, good people around here!

after work I was at the shop and saw him again...imagine that. Topped off my transmission (wasnt able to get it topped off at home because I was too lazy to put it on stands, used a ramp) - Met one of the other instructors and chatted about tomorrow's DE....tonight it's check the bags, load the car, prep the coffee and hit the water bottle....

these cars have a way of making life full of good times...... and good people

Right there with you Ed! I have a DE this weekend too. At tech I met fellow RLster BobbyBaily and his wife. I saw this guy with the sunglasses he has in has in his avatar..I say "are you Bobby Baily?" He says yup and asks me who I am. I say Pete and his wife goes "Sneaky Pete?"! Didn't talk long but great folks. Just got done bleeding brakes and packing up. And get pumped with water. Gonna be 90's here. Let's compare notes tomorrow nite. Be safe and flat out!

gutted the car, had a roll bar made, harness installed, with sparco evos.

No radio, no ac, no heater, still "street legal"

Suddenly I have no self control

Saturday - checkride and Solo sign off

the vid is pretty raw - boring, but more as a tool so I can look at the loose nut connecting the steering wheel, brake and gas pedal
comments welcome - good and bad

Looking pretty smooth from this angle. Pay attention to how much "mid-corner steering correction" you do... this is usually an indicator that you're not looking ahead, through the corner enough. Overall it looks like you're doing a pretty good job - but pay attention to it in the future, especially as you run solo more frequently.

thanks Van, I see a lot of room for improvement and the sea-saw steering has been geatly improved, but not emiminated. You are absolutely right about looking ahead. Another issue seems to be tilting the head, amazing how much of that you can do even when you know you shouldnt. This is a tough thing to do and it have given me quite a few things to pay better attention too. i also am having it reviewed by the old PCA CDI and we are talking about it.

it hurts to see the truth but unless we look right at the problem we dont always see it so clearly.

and NO that is not my car, its nicer than mine....sits lower and wider rear tires too, plus I am in Washington not CA

nice smooth shifting Ed, I need more practice on the 915 tranny, the 996 has spoiled me. What steering wheel do you have, I like it!
