Nope, you are not missing anything, other than putting the nail in the piston first.

The only other concern with doing this mod....if you are not as young and as limber as you think you are.......make sure there is someone within calling distance to help pull you out from under the dash when the job is done.

I would definitely use duck tape on the end/edge of the pedals (especially if you have aluminum pedals

However, I think you over reacted to my comment. I was not trying to get away with a caustic, sarcastic remark by hiding behind a smiley icon. If you re-read your original post (quoted below), you inferred that you thought you may be a retard (your inference, not mine) because you had stalled your P-car. Then when this thread started, you had the revelation that others here had also stalled their P-cars, so you inferred that you were glad to realize that you were “not a retard.” I was just playing along with your original jab at yourself, which I thought was a very light-hearted comment. I did not call you anything that you had not called yourself. I did not attack you or call you a big, fat idiot. I was merely laughing with you, not at you.

Once again, I apologize if I offended you.

By the way, am I the only one that threw up after doing this mod?
I did it Sunday morning after 2 cups of strong coffee. I'm lucky I hadn't eaten anything. Anyway it was challenging as being 6' 190 lbs with broad shoulders, I didn't fit under there very well. And to make matters worse, the spring thing and pivot area was at a distance where it was out of focus with or without my glasses. I had to imagine what needed to be done and fiddle around with tools by feel. I never did remove the ventilation conduit, just tried working around it. It took me longer than it should have mainly because I was working around the switch and bumped it hard enough that it came apart. I had to figure out how to put it together and it jambed up so I had to remove it and try again. All the time I'm upside down and my coffee is not wanting to go up hill to get digested. I finally got it done and wiggled out of the small confine of the work area, stood up and started...you know the rest.

gota911- I haven't been a member long but learned early that you have a great sense of humor and I totally cracked up when I red your retard reply. Not laughing at hamilton-just laughing cause its funny.

Uh-oh - this sounds a LOT like me, except 6'0" 215 lbs and a bad neck as well.
I gotta say under dash work is my LEAST favourite kind!

The list of required tools should also include a barf bag I guess!? Geez. talk about giving it your all!
Under-dash work is annoying, but once I wiggle in there, I stay focused and try and get the job done the first time! Nothing worse than wiggling under your dash, only to find you forgot your screw driver!
