Even if you do this mod and quit stalling your p-car, you may still be a retard!

The geometry must be different with the later design.
I'm driving a March 1998 built model with no problems. Try bleeding the clutch. You can also adjust the anodized bracket and move the pedal slightly.

Interesting mod. Does a MY2000 have this newer designed clutch geometry?

PS - How easy would it be to put the spring back in if one disliked the new stiffness?

In 1999, the pedal and boost spring was redesigned, but the change of the pedal is irrelevant. As far as this mod goes, all 996's have the same setup, regardless of when it was built.

Yes, the mod can easily be reversed.

915 transmission cars, ~1977 to ~1986 had a horseshoe spring shaped like the Greek letter Omega at the transmission.

Not sure about 911/964 with G50.

993 has a boost spring at the pedal cluster.

it is a good thing you are an anonymous internet person because this would normally earn you a punch in the nuts.

so what you are saying is...as long as someone uses a stupid smiley, it is okay to say things you would never say to someone you barely know?

You sure are a big fat idiot!

Hamilton, come on man, that was clearly said in jest. Because you're part of this community (actually now that I look, I noticed you're not a paying member), we assume that we're all quasi-friends who share a bond as a result of our love for Porsches. Come on, read it again, it was playful, and definitely something I would say to a buddy that I was joking around with....

Man no offense but you need to take a chill pill!! Tim was just joking with you and yes (from what I know of Tim) he'd have no problem saying this to you in person.

Fear not, if you hang out here for a little longer your skin will get thicker.

When I was on the basketball team in high school, the captain of the team was a huge tool and his idea of having a laugh was to just call some random kid a bunch of names or make fun of his clothes or something. I was usually the only one who would tell him to knock it off. If you look at my other posts, I think it is pretty evident that I'm really not that serious. I guess I've always had a little bit of a hair-trigger about that same sort of "just joking around." I don't mind being hazed but if anyone has ever seen "The Man With Two Brains" with Steve Martin, this sort of thing is the equivalent of saying "cleaning woman" to me. And littering...I hate littering. I have gotten into three fights confronting litterers. Maybe I do have some issues...hmmmm. Sorry for temporarily hijacking the thread.
