You have any recommendation on which mount to get? I use an Otterbox Defender case. I know nothing about cell phone mounts

Default Mounted

As others have attested to, installation was super quick and easy. I’m using the 17mm ball.

I don't have personal experience with the OtterBox cases, but I know the reputation for being tough (i.e. thick). That might cause some issues with magnetic mounts. That being said there are clamp style mounts available that use a 17mm ball attachment. The 17mm ball (both with and without the cable cutout) versions have been the most popular so far.

This looks great! I'll step into the queue for when the aluminum version is available.

Great looking product.

I finally got around to running my wire internally today. I'm not sure how others have routed the wire but I chose to drill a hole in the underside of the binnacle. Works like a charm.

Post #134 in this thread has pics/instructions for routing a wire without drilling, but always happy to see more ways to make it work.

Ok, so Yaz sent me a replacement one that is reinforced. The day before I replace it mine broke! I do use a heavier load than most I assume. It is a Carplay unit that works great wirelessly!

Yeah the glassed filled nylon replacement is far and away an improvement in strength and thermal properties. The only real additional benefit for the upcoming aluminum version is cosmetics. I've reached out to everyone that purchased previously regarding what version they would prefer, and haven't heard back from 25%. If that email got lost in the shuffle for anyone, please shoot me message.

Default 997?

Will this work on a 997? I was just going to send a link to a friend, and realized it only lists 996.

Still trying to sort out what USPS did with your first package.

996 only for now. Plans for a 986 version. My dad is a 997 guy. If there's a way to get a version in there, I'll figure it out but the interior redesign means it'll be a very different piece.

I think it took more time to get organized than it actually did to put it in. VERY easy! Nize, nice product and a piece of cake to install. THANKS!

thanks!
