I ordered the wrong part and accidentally had the 996 turbo front lip installed on my 4s. Decided I actually preferred the look and left it on. Is this the look you’re aiming to achieve?
Yes, to some degree. I have a 2000 Carrera4 (non turbo or "S") so this lip won't work. I looked at this one and possibly modifying it but the curve of the lip/spoiler doesn't come close to matching up.
Seats are great. I have a run them in my car for 15 years. They wear well and look to be easy to re-skin. They are comfortable as he'll, especially with extra pads to adjust lumbar, and have worked well for me on long distance drives. No back fatigue or cramping. They provide incredible support on and off the track.
Don't know why they are tough to get, don't know if it's a pandemic thing with a shutdown in Italy and they will be available later at a better price or what. But I like the seats so much that I just got rid of my oem seats which were just taking up space, and plan to re-skin them sometime over the next few years once I figure out what I want to do to the interior with a refresh.
So regardless of the color, if you are able to get the seats for a good price, you can always have them re-skinned. Or refresh your interior to tie in the different color. I suspect we will see alot of "reimagined" ideas coming over the next couple of years as the 996 continues to take center stage.
Good to hear they worked for you on longer drives! I'd love to get a set and have the centers redone in hounds tooth fabric. Love that look. I'm very happy with the current sport seats and not sure I'd want to part with them. Comfort seats would be gone in a heart beat too!

Has Recaro ever done more runs of these? My understanding is that they were NLA.
This company has very reasonably priced covers.. I may pick up a set for fun. Burgundy GT3 seats in a black interior?
Mike the OP to this thread went thru a process to get new ones. Maybe he will see this and share whats actually happening with Recarro and the production of the seats.
What makes the seats difficult is getting in and out of them as you get older. I am 57, and don't have any problems. But it's a process for many of my buddies of the same age. You just gotta stay in shape. The seats give you incentive to do that. Hope to be climbing in and out of them in 30 years as well.

For sure! And looking more graceful than a newborn giraffe First time trying them it took me a few tries to figure out the right and wrong way of getting in and out!
One of the most awkward "giraffe" moments is when you take a student out on the track that has never been in a racing seat, with harnesses and hans device, that is not as limber as a 40 year old. They can drop into the seat fairly easily. But it can be a little tough to get them out.
You drove it in the rain?!?! Yesterday went on a store run. Sunny when I went in, pouring rain when I came out. It was hard to load up the frunk without getting everything wet. Drove south for half a mile and it was all sunny again. Florida....
