So a 996 narrow body needs skirts and psuedo front cover to look more tyrboey. I wish there was a site where you can build a 996 with different factory body options.

Is your car a C2 narrow body? If so what are the body kit parts that are on her? Looks great!

thanks a lot. I’m happy with the pair. And I’m even happier to get out of the large payment of my last vehicle, which I bought for $61,300 in December, just sold Friday for $68,500. Winning. It feels good to have titles in hand.

Now I just need an e46 m3 as a DE and track car to complete my modest euro collection on a (relative budget). 911 “the weekender”, X5 “the daily”, e46 “the track car”.

Jeez, what vehicle was that?

E53s are brilliant. Just great SUVs.

How good it feels to be back…also just picked up this E53 X5 yesterday. Pretty cool.

JP, good to see you back. How is the 996 doing?

2021 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4. It was a badass van for work, but I am making some changes in my business/career that will be focused taking me out of the field mostly, so I didn’t need it something like that, and definitely couldn’t pass that up. In a normal market I could’ve been in a real jam stuck with that van.

Hey thanks! The car is great, winter was pretty quiet. I had a few odd days here and there in that I could/would drive it. Tried to limit the start ups in cold weather whenever possible. Actually had it for sale over the winter. Baby due in July. Now that I’m logging some hours in the car again, I just want to keep driving it. However coming back to the forum makes me remember all of the things I tried to forget! Possibility of explosive engines and scored cylinders keep me up at night to be honest. But I keep telling myself to just drive it and be happy.

Drive it and be happy. The 996.2 is a great car with an incredibly durable engine. You know the routine, IMS, water pump, change your oil at least 2x a year and you're in good shape. If you are curious, test your oil a few times. I think we may have lost you with preventative procedures if you are going to track your car. In that case it does add up. Don't track it until the time is right. But do enjoy it!

Sitting on jacks waiting for my engine to come back from LNE. I fixed the rust issue myself recently!
