Omg Porschetech3 I’m glad you’re back to better!!!
i have a question on using your uids 3.0 and the LN Engineering skid plate will they work together or is better to go just uids
thank you Mike
I had to deal with a health issue for a bit. I was hospitalized for a little while for a life threatening blood infection, I'm back on my feet and doing well now.
Glad to hear you’re better Skip! A friend of mine had a similar issue (sepsis in his case) that dogged him for nearly a year and almost killed him. The irony is that he most assuredly picked it up in the hospital while having another procedure😏. The UIDS V3.0 looks awesome... hope we can buy it soon 😃🙏
I thank you all for the pleasant comments on my health situation. I really had the Doctors worried there for a while, but with a large battalion of anti-biotics and some time, my white blood cells won the battle over the black blood cells and I'm back on my feet.
Now,Back to the UIDS V3.0 !!
To answer Mikes question, I'm sure the LN skid plate will fit/help protect the UIDS, but I think the drain hole is not in the right place. I will check this to confirm later. Also the skid plate will block some air flow over the fins of the UIDS, more data on the effect of this to come. I did manage to run over a 6 foot wide curb height "Island" night before last. It was raining hard , dark, and I was making a turn into a parking lot that had a stupid Island in the wrong place. Before I knew it I had jumped the whole damn thing !! lol .. I will give a full report (with pictures) in a few days, and we can talk about the damage ( or lack there of) on the UIDS...

Great that you were able to overcome the Illness. By the way glad to report that yesterday I crossed the 7,000 driven miles in my car no tick. Glad to have you back. I’ll be interested to see what happened to the sump after the curve incident.

Thanks ..
With 7K miles I think it's safe to say your tick is fixed without needing a re-build !!! Get all the smiles you can out of it !!
Here is the curb I accidentally jumped completely over the other night..
It was put at the end of a fence on the service road after turning off the 4-lane going into the parking lot. Never should have been there. You can see where LOTs of people have jumped this thing.
Picture of the UIDS . It took a very hard lick, just about hard enough to break the motor mounts or bell-housing, but just a few scrapes and gouges in the UIDS. This thing is solid as a rock..
There were three metal tubes where the set-screws are that got SMASHED also. They were installed for testing with the Manometer..
I'm pleased to announce that the UIDS V3.0 works just as we had thought it would, and has now passed ALL of our test !!! Here is a couple of videos of gnarly back-roads that have a lot of elevation changes and constant left-right turns, along with a lot of dirt and gravel that gets washed over them sometimes..
