So im just waiting in some orings in the trans cooler and the fuel sending unit to arrive from germany and ill be ready to go with an alignment.
I was able to tap a hole for the trans oil temp into the cooler mounting block. Its a little close to the fill plug but the cooler blocks it anyways
I am also trying my hand at some body work. I really hate it but im trying to save some money. I have the old rear bumper from the donor and its not worth much so im trying to fill the side exhaust cut outs and make it into a cup bumper.
I cut the shapes cut into rigid foam and glassed them up. I guess we will see how it turns out... i have low expectations in myself but i have friends that can make it look decent after i do the bulk work. Plan is to panel bond them in and bondo the gaps.
Well the bumper is off to my body shop buddy. The fiberglass work is ok but i think im gonna cut the exhaust port filler pieces out and cut the rear of the bumper higher like a real cup bumper.
I did get the orings for the trans cooler and thats all together but i am disappointed af because the upper section of the fuel sender i ordered for half of the entire assemble was identicle but is missing the supply and return ports. I should have the full assembly early next week.

Hay Aaron if you are not going to use that connector-less cover I could probably use it. I'm converting to AN lines so I can stuff a lot of E85 through it. Need a blank cover to add bulkhead fittings.
Had to take a few days off to go to Denver for a family function. I doooooo miss the rockies.
This weekend i got the fuel sender installed and worked in getting the new aim unit installed. Its really designed tl sit in front of the cluster but with all my trim pieces in place it really didnt fit. So i designed an aluminum mount that comes through the left side of the horseshoe. I didnt have anything in those 3 buttons anything. The mount works but u thunkn ts a little too bulky. When i get some time in the future ill cut the bracket back flush to the horseshoe and mount a Ram ball and use a long arm.
I also have the modified rear bumper mocked up. Still needs some work for the cup tow hook and the old exhaust ports. I still may make a knoch in the center. It will most likely be primer grey for the first couple weeks of the season until i have time to get back into the body shop.
First fit Stuffened it up with the aluminum glue gum Pass side view
I also have my Aim Solo 2 dl for sale with the mount and cables. Asking $700 and will ship 4 free if one of u 996 guys want it. Send a pm if interested.
So the aligment is done. Increased the camber some. Front is 3.8* and 1mm tow out, rear is 3.5* and 1mm tow in. No idea what the front caster is. I have tarret adjustable caster pucks and i was just trying to center the wheel in well but no matter what i do i hit the plastic liners front and back. Ill need to mod the radiator fan mount for more cleance in the future.
Also paInted up the bumper with some single stage paint that my napa paint store mixes up and can put in cans. Its race car body work and paint. At least it doesnt look like a honda civic with primer panels. Ill let the body shop clean it up when i get a few weeks between events.
On thr 4 post for the alighnment Paint does dry darker. Its not a bad match 4 now.
