That's a pretty solid price. Congrats

Whats the catch here? Is it a high option car and/or decent color? I’m assuming you took care of all of the work, but that seems like a really strong sell, even a really well kept tippy with those miles.

You can search rennlist for my classified listing and you'll see the pics. Not well optioned, just full leather, color is midnight blue metallic with seal grey interior. I think it sold quickly due to the condition, even though high miles, very well taken care of totally stock C2. No wonky add-ons like a lot of posers do to their 996's. The car has won many a concours also.

What do you consider a wonky poser add on to a 996?

The opposite of: "The car has won many a concours also."

The market shows that aftermarket wings, bodykits, wheels, etc. typically pull lower numbers. Recently, a very nice low mile Lapis over Cinnamon Turbo was on either Cars and Bids or BaT and pulled WAY lower numbers than it should have, had it been stock. Not everyone wants a Techart kit.

Factory Aerokit / different OEM wheels are a different ball of wax.

I wasn’t asking you. But since you want to respond you must know what he means. Winning many a concours means what exactly? As it came from the factory? All correct fasteners and part #’s? Or just in really good condition for that class?

Yeah, but realistically how many of the 996s for sale have "wonky poser add ons"? At worst, a fair number of them have aftermarket wheels and lowered suspension. It isn't common that you see a 996 with a body kit or major modifications that is in a condition that most people would want to spend their money on. Mostly just BHPH or FBMP trash with distasteful mods.

Long as you asked...
some may love it, others not so much. As always, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... Pic is not a turbo or gt, a m996 that supposedly has a super charger installed...

Again FBMP/BHPH trash lol. Nobody says “I want a 996” and then seeks this thing out. Someone with a vape addiction and $20k in their pocket who wants to go to takeovers to be a public nuisance might though.

No offense to the guy whoever buys this though (unless they actually fit my description).

Poor fitting or distasteful aftermarket mods of any kind will reduce value of ANY car. What are the thoughts on aero kit parts added to 996 after the fact, not on factory build sheet? OEM parts I assume will probably only receive a slight knock if not on build sheet, but what about from a reputable 996 supplier that many users here have purchased their wings, lips, ducktails, wings, etc. from?

I really would love a full .2 aerokit after I get some other things sorted, as I want to respray the front bumper and hood anyway…but I do currently have a “Carrera” wing on the car, which is not on the build sheet.

If you want to install OEM aero parts and not be penalized, your only chance is to have a Porsche AD invoice for the installation

(which is another kind of penalty)

The Porsche OEM aero has aged well into the current era. Not all of the aftermarket aero has.
