Not sure I've ever seen brown gauges before. That's pretty cool.

Really?? There were at least six bidders over $60K, and logically at least one additional "someone" was bidding against the winner to the (almost $100K) end

It will

Welcome back Bdron.

Beautiful car. I hope the buyer joins us on RL. Love to know why they paid 40k more than market for yellow paint, aero and yellow stitched seats.

Dream car in the right color that the buyer wanted to make sure it didnt go away? Price was no object as a result.

Love the outcome either way. The 996 is a must have car in any colection.

Actually there were six bidders over $60K, and of course at least two bidders right up to the win

So that actually is the market for yellow paint…

on the headlights that won LeMans

You should see what yellow paint does for 964

I could be wrong but I doubt we will see this car on RL. It seems like the buyer has or is building a car collection and probably could care less about the bickering in the 996 world. His two other wins on BAT consisted of a low mile 1989 Turbo Cab for $198k and a 1994 Speedster for $185k. Given that his final bid was $6k above previous shows that he simply wanted the car and cost was not stopping him. Hope it gets driven though! Otherwise the color won't matter when it sits under a beige car cover.

That’s absolute insanity to me. You can get a 996 gt3 for close to that. I like the factory aero kit and would definitely buy it from suncoast, but would
never pay 84k for a 996 with XAA option. Just crazy.

I would never pay up for yellow. But there are some folks that just look good in pastels.

You're kidding right?

Or by "close" you mean within $100K??

This is just one more piece of evidence that the 996 market is changing, speculators will come in and snap up what they believe to be the special cars, which drags up the prices for the rest of us, those who have a lot of disposable income just see a car collection as a safe haven to diversify, sure they can lose money but in relative terms its pretty safe compared to a bad market, was it a surprise to see it go for 85k? it was to me... but 6 bidders and two who were heading towards a 100k .. i think it was a special car, rare colors are a thing, low mileage, i would think a GT3 would be a more desirable car, or a GT2 or a Turbo, but getting a rare color with rare options might trump a Silver on Black Turbo for value.....
