I'll be curious to see how high it goes as well. It is very similar to my Guards Red 03 C4S. I have a black interior and no hardback sport seats though. I'm also sitting at 96K miles.
How about a few pictures of your 951. Got a couple of buddies that still track them. Incredible Porsches that still after 35 years are durable and fast. Got one buddy that club races the S2 which is set-up beautifully. In my avatar picture you can see his red front end.

Yeah, 951s are great cars. Very balanced. Mine is about as far from stock as it gets. It is still street legal and will stay that way, but is primarily set up for the track. It has Vitesse Stage III, MAF, Wasted Spark, Piggyback, Milledge cam, LSD, coilovers, big sway bars, 993 Turbo S big reds, Joe Toth front splitter, strut brace, replica 968 Club Sport seats (Recaro Pole Positions), 5 pt harness, harness bar, and ton of other upgrades. It needs a little work, but its getting there. Mostly, I need to fix an electrical issue and possibly go standalone, paint and install the Euro rear bumper and custom fiberglass front bumper with molded brake ducts. I'd like to install a cage at some point too. Here are couple of pictures:
Hopefully that isn't too off topic. 951 prices are going up too and its got a 996 steering wheel!
It also has 930 S Flachtblau headlights! Beautiful!

968 CS is a masterpiece IMO. Would love to import one
EDIT: As a side note: interesting how no one was ever bothered by 968 / 993 front clip similarities, yet parallels between the 996 / 986 caused a veritable "end of days" for Porsche enthusiasts

It's the next "cheap" Porsche in line I suppose. 944 then 924 next? After that, Cayenne?
This is an interesting conversation because the next cheap gateway Porsche has got to have an audience willing to put up with them and keep them running. I almost instinctively wrote "The Macan has to be the next cheap gateway Porsche." But then I got to thinking what kind of home garage investment will it take to keep essentially a computer from 2014 running in 2030?

I’ve owned the 944 16 years and it has only 36k on it it’s just too nice to drive in Nyc as much as I drive my Aero which perhaps being newer to me
or I’m just enjoying life too much

Entry to Porsche is Boxster. Entry to 911 is still the 996 which is why they are going crazy. They will level off soon at the bottom "entry" level but not the nice examples. They will continue to rise past 997

I worked as a young apprentice for Heimrath Porsche in Scarborough (Toronto) Ontario when this car came out. I was there in 1990/91
I didn't love the car at the time as I thought the 944 was a better looking car, but this car does have a lot going for it. Hemrath was racing in the Rothman's Cup with one and I got to work on it a few times. He had his 'racing department' next to my bay at the end of the shop and it was always fun to be a part of that scene for a while.
I also worked with one of the top Porsche techs in the world while I was there. I think his name was Chris Hillier and in the 90's he would routinely go to the Porsche technician competition and score in the top percentile in the world. There's a Chris Hillier who is now Shop Foreman at Pfaff in Toronto. I'll have to stop in and see if it's the same person some time soon.
Sorry for the rant. Getting back into Porsches after a long absence and it's fun to reminisce.
