LBI Limited listing a base 996 shows just how much the market has changed.

What a great thread!!!
This from a guy who owned a 356 Super 90, then a 912, then passed on a 911 T for a Z28 because it had a bigger trunk....which I needed for getaways with...you guessed it...women...Arrgghhh!!!

You're right. I probably overstated the IMS/Borescoring percentage. Perhaps that one would have been better characterized as "Dual Row vs. Single, Cable vs. DBW, 4 spoke vs. 3 spoke, Amber or Not, Who needs a Glovebox or cupholders? 3.4 has plenty of power...."

Now some will disagree but that is the one of the most bland interiors I've seen. Interesting car though, has an Aero bumper and skirts but not on the options sticker and no mention if dealer installed.

I agree. I test drove one just like this back in ‘17 when I got my first 996 and the interior was bland, hadn’t held up well in the usual places, and was sort of unsettlingly light colored everywhere I looked.

Kinda seems like you’re trying to walk it back now. The post I read was a knock on the narrow body, and I have trouble seeing the merit in doing that here, of all places. It comes across as an insult to other 996 owners, and that’s pointless at best.

If we're being honest, all 911s look like androgynous VW Beetles. And that's just a fact

No ones walking anything back. You are correct the narrow body isn’t my cup of tea (looks wise). End of story.

That one sentence is all you needed. Not 12 posts and a 5 page MLA cited essay why you don't like narrow body 996s. We get it.

I agree. I have a 2002 Boxster S that's Arctic Silver over Graphite Gray. It is the most boring of any of the P-cars I own. I've tried to break up the solid gray w/ a carbon fiber shifter, parking brake and steering wheel and black floor mats, but even then it's boring. The only other black in the car are the clapped out soft touch plastic pieces, which only add to the blandness. But - it's a reliable, solid running S car, so it stays in the fleet.

996's are ugly and awful cars, there I said it. Some of us want prices to drop so we can buy more at 2017 prices.

Clearly you don't appreciate the pinnacle of driving dynamics that is understeering out of every turn with an underpowered AWD porker.
