Thanks dude... I got the cat efficiency, just not sure how to tell with the durametric if its likely a bad cat, bad 02 sensor or fueling issue. Car runs pissah, so hopefully not something more serious than an 02 sensor. I suppose I can swap them this weekend and that should tell me pretty quickly... assuming I can actually get the thing out haha.

Glad to hear you are getting everything sorted out. Surprised about the weight. I gotta get mine weighed. Roll bar doesn't help. You should have taken the case of yuengling out of the frunk! Bottom line is you will have incredible balance and handling. Congrats on all enhancements. Just wait till you use your LSD coming out of a turn.

I got it open on my computer but not plugged in. Unable to push any of the buttons. I gotta use it tomorrow on my car to reset a code anyways. May even be the cats. Just went off the other day as I was playing with the car. I'll circle back tomorrow if someone doesn't have an answer for you.

HAHA, Here I thought it was helping put some weight on the front tires... thought I had some extra to spare so I'd give them all the help I could

Funny about the diff, there's still a ton of sand on the road here, I can feel it working when pulling away from a sandy stop. It also lets you know its back there with a little bit of general clunkiness at low speeds sharp turning angles... I think it's going to make a big difference going back to what you've been saying all along, I think I underestimated the impact...

Yeah. Depending on the ratio, you will have a lot of clunkiness in tight spaces such as parking in a tight space. No worries obviously on the track. However, you will soon be on Top Gear as a guest driver being able to hold a drift in an off camber turn. Couldn't do that before the LSD!

I'd be happy to pass along the info if you'd like of the guy I had do the install, just let me know.

thx, ill let u know if i need him, the budget is blown this year.. I set up a couple dozen gear sets a year so i should be able to do it, removing a tab and shortening shafts is not hard 4 me either

i have some 8 mm spacers and 5 longer bolts if u need something fast.

Thanks dude ! Just bought a set of 10MM spacers from ECS had them ship overnight... fingers crossed they get here before the weekend, planning on hard shakedown run before track day on 10th.

Ooof, you got sand jammed in the body somewhere? My car is a full passenger lighter, scratching my head on that one.

Anyone have a bead on some cats ? as I begin to diagnose this P0420, in the event the cats need to be replaced, I'm trying to prepare.

Soul had reached out on one of my YT vids, I shot them an email and we'll see if that goes anywhere.... But I would be happy to have a set of stockers just in case.

Gracias dudes !

I've worked at a European auto repair shop for nearly a decade and the amount of times I've had a cat efficiency fault has been anything besides a bad cat is zero. Especially on a 996, you likely have a underperforming cat. The good news is you can now do a cat bypass or high flow cats and pick up about 15-30 horsepower!

I think a Soul Performance sticker/Sponsorship on Zombs Car would be good for the both of Y'all !!!

Jason has put a ton of work into that car in the last year, has a good presence/appeal and I think will be around for a long while...

Nice! At least one of us has a car ready. Don't heat cycle out your NT01's before the 10th!
It's surprisingly hard to reduce weight. All those little things only weigh a tiny bit. I sold my VW's interior and the whole thing weighs less than 100 pounds.

Your heavier spring setup is what the track focused guys on the Turbo forum recommend. The heavier fronts limit brake dive and let you transfer more weight to the fronts for trail brake turn in. Doesn't help on long sweeping turns, those short sharp turns like Turn 4 at Thompson are where it will help.
The LSD should limit inside rear wheel spin though you weren't getting that last year, so should not be a problem. You'll really be able to tell on Turn 12 at Palmer, the increasing radius right hander (we're running clockwise on the 10th?). I would run the dampers as soft as possible to avoid any bounciness of the heavier springs; if you get the tires skipping along it really reduces the grip potential. You got a heavier rear sway as I remember, I'd start it in the middle and come prepared to stiffen it up.

I think you're going to like this setup and you're going to be a monster on the track this year. I can't wait to see you out there.

TNIA signups for June open tomorrow, all the local events for April & May are sold out except for NHMS.

Your P0420 code: I have the DME 7.8 troubleshooting manual, not the 7.2 - for what it's worth.
That says for P0420 possible cause:
O2 sensors interchanged pre/post
Post O2 sensor aged
Cat faulty
Valve Lift fault

If you're feeling like a workout swap the post-cat O2's & see what happens. I'd do that before changing cats as you will need to remove the O2's anyway. If you do change cats the high flow ones are probably the best bet, might even pick up a few HP!

Echoing what Porschetech3 wrote, Jason's done a lot and has effectively communicated what he's done which is even more rare.
