The problem is that the hard pipe is within an inch of the drain and so it kinks in any direction except if it goes underneath - at which point it looks like it won’t be long enough (I haven’t installed the rest of it). I’ll give it another shot, otherwise I’ll try to take better pics of that pipe.

I have a question post install:
"As an additional design improvement, the Ultimate AOS, incorporates an accumulator in series between the vortex and the flow control diaphragm regulator. The accumulator acts as a secondary air/oil separator and collects any excess oil in the crankcase vent system."
Does this accumulator make an audible sound?

Why do you ask? I suspect you have an unusual noise you are concerned about.....Please post a video/audio...

I don't think it will be possible. First, it is very intermittent, and secondly, it is quite faint. I have heard it twice now, both times while sitting at a stop light. The best way I could describe it is, it sounds like an electric motor kicking on for a few seconds -- a flat, low-pitched hum. Definitely coming from the engine compartment.
Ahhh......Sound like what you are experiencing is the "SAI Self Test" ...
Ever so often the DME will do a "Self Test" on the SAI to make sure it is working.. This self test is usually done when the car is fully warmed and sitting at a red-light.....
The DME turns on the SAI motor/pump or a few seconds to see if the air is blown into the exhaust by monitoring the 02 Sensors and expects to see them go full lean (0v)...
Totally normal.......

An update for the "early" 99 models.. This "Z" elbow will be included in all post UAOS kits for the early 99 models..
It makes a much better/nicer connection to the Power Brake Booster Hose than was previously available,and a better routing ( and no leaking like the factory plastic o-ringed elbow)...We all know the 99's and especially the early 99's were a very tight fit, and this fits !!
To retrofit it just contact me or you can source it your self, you need two Dorman 46051 90* elbows, a 3 inch long piece of 16mm Aluminum thin wall tube.. and 4 22mm Constant Tension Clamps, these will be included for early 99 going forward...

Great idea. I thought about this style of fix when I was experimenting with other hoses but I wasn't sure where to source the tube from. My Gates hose that I cut up seems to be working for now but it's not as rigid as I would like and I worry that it will collapse over time. Apologies as I forgot to follow up with you on this.
Yea, sourcing the 16mm thin wall Aluminum tube was the biggest/last hurtle, turns out several vendors on Amazon has it all sizes and thickness...

Install in a 987 3.8 swap car
Hey Rennlisters,
I was curious if anyone knows whether or not this kit is compatible with a 987 that has a 3.8 997.1 CS motor in it? concern would be clearance to the engine access panel up top. Thanks!

Hi Jon,
If you have the 987 intake manifold and oil cooler, which I assume you do it , it will fit...The clearance is very tight and may touch the engine cover just like the shifter cables do..
If this is a "Track Only" car and doesn't have to pass emissions testing, there is more freedom and I am finishing up a track only version for 996/997.1 and working on one for a 987 kit..
Here are some pictures of the emission legal Cayman "Street and Track Version" ....you can use with divers side connection or passenger side connection with IDP plenum..

Appreciate the timely response and my hat is off to you for inventing this piece of kit. This is a dedicated GTB3 car, track only. To my knowledge no emissions equipment was installed when we did the swap. It has an IPD plenum and GT3 TB presently. Factory oil cooler was swapped out for the OEM 997 3rd radiator unit as well. So there should be ample room in there based on what I'm reading in your response.

Send me a pic of the engine bay in this area so I can see what I'm working with..
Without being handicapped by the emissions laws I can do away with the flow regulator and supply a plug-off, use my "modified AOS" to the Accumulator with drain-back, then to a small 500ml catch can with sight glass and vent filter for a "track only" set-up..( if still using the factory DME with CEL you may get a code for fuel trim)..
This allows the oil level to be increased which I have found to be one of the best things you can do for the M96/M97
