Drove across the bridge to New Jersey where it’s illegal for drivers to pump their own gas.

So I got FREE installation with $20 worth of 93 octane.

Wow? Illegal to pump your own gas! Here in RI the legislature apparently hasn't thought of that one yet.

Oh yeah, NJ is now the only one. Oregon passed a law a few years back letting people pump their own. I was at a gas station near a university in Boston a few years back and I had to help a mother from New Jersey figure out how to use the gas pump, because she had never pumped her own gas before and had broke down in tears trying to figure it out. I'd like to think she was really distraught over dropping her kid off and that ordinarily could have figured it out, but you never know...

On topic, what I won't be doing to my 996 this weekend is brakes because the parts never showed up, so hopefully next weekend.

Been almost 4 years since I last did this.
Meguiars Medium Headlight restoration
My 3" orbital buffer - doing it by hand was not getting anywhere
IPA spray to clean

Very happy with the job!

Before

Equipment used: Meguiars Medium Headlight restorer, my 3" orbital with their pads, IPA spray

after Right

after Left

Bought more parts, and now waiting for the delivery truck. Coming soon:
  • Alpine amplifiers (2) install with Sony head unit
  • Replace knackered right rear taillight (cracked and stained)
  • Replace two underbody panels I saw were broken when I did the transmission mount
  • Mesh grill material to update/refresh radiator grilles
Also starting to look at supplemental LED fog/snow light additions for winter driving.

Hit a milestone...

About 11k are mine. Not bad for 9 months of ownership.

Also, finally got all my brake parts delivered. Haven't decided yet if the Porsche or the diesel is getting my attention this weekend, though.
