So I made it a non-priority…shoulda made it a priority based on how much of an improvement was t made. My friend that works at a dealer in ATL said he recommends to his customers replacing mounts every 20k miles since it’s a “relatively cheap fix with only an hour of labor…a good bit of the time the mounts needed to be replaced and nice we see the condition they’re in even if there were no symptoms.

I’m still scratching my head though that my sump sits lower with new mounts than it did with worn ones…but the tail pipes sit higher…
Nate, I have to agree with you. Mine has 57k and I just replaced my engine mounts for the first time 2 months ago with Rein mounts. Engine and shifting feels tighter. I didn't do my transmission mount on purpose, because I wanted to isolate the changes to see if there was actually a difference in feel for each individual replacement. Plan on doing the transmission mount in another month or two. But yes, I have two tailpipes that need to be adjusted as well.

I did find this that I'm going try this from Aero Cosmetics, the pilots on this forum might recognize it:

For the cowl, I use Meguiars Ultimate Black.
It does a good job and lasts for a while.
It's easy to re-do and there's no danger of a permanent failure.
But I've been thinking about replacing my cowl with a carbon fiber one.
(Hoping Rennline will make one and it will be more affordable than ordering one from Germany)

For tires, I only clean with soap and water.
1) Way back when(1980s? 1990s?) I used a tire dressing that flung off when I drove the car and messed up a very detailed cleaning.
Since then I've avoided using any dressing to avoid any mess.
This is probably not an issue 30-40 years later.
2) I don't like the shiny look.
3) I've always wondered what dressing soaking in does to the rubber.

Oh man that cowl is pretty and the price matches that too. The few customers I have like tire dressing so I just use a tire sponge to apply, can't stand spaying it on.

Finally put in the Numeric shifter that's been sitting in the box since Christmas 😬

This is next on my list and I'm debating if I should do both cables and shifter or just the shifter. Did you do both or just the shifter? Let us know how you like it.

Those are stock cables in the picture.

Default Have you looked at the existing shifter?

I used the FF Shift Right and read somewhere that it was wise to plan on replacing the shifter cable ends when doing the job. I ordered them up and I'm glad I had them in hand. They were toast. As far as the cable, I asked my Indy and he said avoid aftermarket cables unless you want a bunch of NVH. You might plan on tracking the car, so up to you. I drive mine daily so comfort matters.
I'm sure you know this already, but the cables are not a maintenance item. Do the shifter, or the shifter internals, upgrade the ends with new, and be sure to use an alignment tool. There's a few good YT vids that cover the upgrade. Mark the thread where your cables seat to make the alignment easy. That high end shifter looks pretty awesome. I wanted to stay stock shifter throw so the internals were a good compromise. I'm satisfied. For now. . Priorities, priorities...

THE phone mount from Yaz installed today. 17mm ball. ESR Magsafe mount. Holds the phone very well. Location is awesome, right in the instrument sight line.

Also changed out the ballast resistors for the low speed fans(last weekend). Temps in traffic have been significantly reduced. No high speed fans this week. Here's old and new resistors. (same as a million previous pics)

I bought the parts for the cheap alternative, but when it came to putting it together, I decided it was a bit too kludgey for me. Before resistor change, the temp would get up to needle on the right side of the 0 in 180, and then the high speed fans would kick in. The highest temps it sees now are the needle on the left side of the 0 in 180. This car has the CSF radiators and a 160 thermostat. If I'm above 20mph, the needle is right on the 180 line. Since putting these in, I've had no high speed fans. It's a cool car!

'I bought both the shifter and cables as a kit when Numeric had it on sale back around Christmas. I only installed the shifter and was going to attempt the cables but was a bit overwhelmed with trying to get the OEM cables out. Worked on that rubber grommet for at least a half hour before calling it quits. I plan on hanging onto the Numeric cables and will look into having a reputable shop install them. Took her out for a little test run this afternoon and man does that shifter work nicely! Shifts are much more crisp and firm and I really like it!

Curious if anyone installed the numeric cables on the stock shifter without installing the numeric shifter. What does it feel like?

I originally had Shift Right kit + Numeric cables. The Numeric cables add precision; they bolt solidly to the shift assembly and cable brackets at the transmission end, there is a solid, firm cable connection at each end, and the cables themselves are heftier than stock. But they also added too much gear noise for my tastes. I went with new stock cables and ends instead.

The cable plug/bung is the worst part of the job. I fought with getting it back in for almost two hrs before giving up and going home for the night. Thinking things through, I decided to bring some car wash soap with me the following day (Meguires thick yellow stuff…I had tried all kinds of lubricants before that… none of them worked). Make sure you enlarge the holes for the cables, as they’re much larger than stock. Put plenty of soap on the plug and push it back in from under the car. Good luck

@barbancourt Was saying the same thing. We're going to do the the swap on my quickjacks but he said getting the cables routed was almost maddening.
