I understand this pricing is the "commercial" vehicle price (no bells and whistles??). The retail price will be much higher.
All the lightnings will be 4 wheel drives, all of them will be supercrew cabs. So add a mild package like STX and you’ll have a pretty cool truck. When I bought my last, this one when I went to the bathroom I was talking to another guy that was paying $61,000 for a sup up One (not raptor), so anyway I could have bought two like mine each at $28,500 and be under his total price. I’m in Texas and it is hot here I don’t know why anybody would want sunroof, navigation, leather, the little window on the rear glass, electric power seats, running boards that come out etc. Is the same truck, same interior space, also
since it is a higher trim your full Cover insurance is going to be more expensive. Complete disclosure I’m a Ford stockholder.
Just bought my first P ('00 996 C2) and wash it every time it's out and about. Not sure how to wax etc - everything has changed. But it's like going back in time.
I’ll suggest P&S Bead Maker.
Easy spray on and off, great shine, protection and you can apply it after every wash.
I've use beadmaker and it's not a bad product. You need to use a bit more of it to get the base coat going first. The one bad thing I've noticed is that it just doesn't last very long, which may be an issue if you plan to use it as a protectant. It works super well as a drying aid, though. It also seems to attract dust a bit more than other products I tried. My choice for easy to apply and decently long lasting solutions goes to Turtle Wax Seal & Shine. That stuff rocks, lasts much longer and actually has very good chemical resistance. Plus is you can pick it up at most stores for about $12.

I second the Turtle Wax Seal & Shine, check out the videos on YouTube and it's a clear winner over much more expensive products. This is just one of the many glowing reviews.
That's the video I was thinking of. Unless you're going to spring for a proper ceramic coating, this is a clear winner given the cost/benefit. It's cheap enough to the point where I just use it as a drying agent. Talk about protection on top of protection

Thanks. I think I'll try the Turtle product. Amazon has it for $17.27 and Advanced Auto has it for $8.99. Ouch!
Narrowly avoided some damage from falling tree branches…. I’ve been parking the 996 on the street adjacent to our driveway. I keep catching flak from people for it “put that thing in the driveway! It’s too nice to park on the street, what if it gets sideswiped?!?!” Well, last night during a storm, our 200yr old oak tree decided to drop some branches on the wife’s 2019 GTI, damaging the roof/door/hood. 996 is safe! I’ve always said I worry more about the tree than someone hitting it parked next to the driveway, and I feel validated for now!
I guess this is what Saturdays are for. Oddly I've been driving it a lot, so not sure how long they've been in there.
If anyone has an idea how mice can get in, please let me know. I am assuming it is not from the cowl vents since they'd have to climb up the car body.
They can get in in any number of ways, there’s pretty much zero way to prevent it if they want in. A mouse can push through weatherstripping, climb up through panel gaps, etc. They basically teleport to anywhere they damned well please!
Mine had the mouse nest behind the compressor. I fished And vacuumed it out. Whether it was there when I bought the car last summer or happened over this winter, not sure. Dryer sheets, mothballs, more frequent visits from your pest control company are all possibilities.
