It wasn’t tough actually, but took a lot of fiddling to get everything just right.
It is/was my daily driver pre-COVID.
Someday soon I hope it will be again.
So far on twisty low speed turns the steering response is a lot better.

Did you use the air bag delete resistor?
only issue I have is a lazy turn single cancel. It's a bit dangerous with people thinking you're turning, but I've adapted by manually canceling turn signal evertime.
I did use the resistor and had no airbag lights.
My turn signal resets just like before.

Me too.
My pride is a bit bruised.
I hadn’t installed an aftermarket steering wheel in a car(VW Scirocco) since the 80’s.

I had to fiddle with it a bit on my 964 so I know what you mean. Seems like it should just be a matter of bolting things on but it doesn't quite work that way sometimes, especially if you don't do these installs very often. Kinda hafta work on it a bit to get everything peachy. What resistor did you use?

I used the resistor that Carnewal sent with the hub. http://www.carnewal.com/products/996...el-996-993-986

I also got the 15mm spacer.

Certainly within spec. I think the maximum consumption is well under 1,000 miles per quart.

The important thing is to track the rate. If the rate is steady, don’t be alarmed. If the rate suddenly increases, time for investigation.

I lifted my 996 today for the first time with my “New” QuickJack.
I bought a BL-5000 jack on Craigslist that was advertised as a SLX but wasn’t an SLX.
The price (dirt cheap) was worth it, especially for the car ministry vehicle repairs.
(I provide free labor and discounted/free parts for those struggling with finances.)
I ordered 5000SLX frames and they were delivered today.

Picked up some wheels, maybe track wheels.

Anyone know what they are ? Powdercoat was done by PO

18x8 +50 F
18x10 +40 R

ETA... Found it - BSA 215 rims. 40 offset in the rear is pretty aggressive. Rear weigh 24.6 lbs ea. and fronts 21.8 lbs ea.

I had mine on the Quickjacks yesterday to vacuum out the radiator inlets. It’s so quick and easy, why not. While up there, do a roll through on the creeper and check things out.

I cut four tapered blocks to get the car high enough to stack both blocks in one pick. I just added rubber belting to the underside of the blocks to help keep them in place. The blocks don’t have the rubber on them in this picture.

I extended the rubber past the incoming end of the block to help hold them in place when driving in. I have a mirror angled to help align the car with the block as I drive in.

I took the car for a drive this morning...always a treat.

How do you disconnect the electrical coupling for the seat? Can't figure it out...

Thanks for the reply.

Still getting to know the quirks of this car after only 10 months of ownership. I'm use to no oil usage between oil changes for any of my vehicles including my F250. So, this is new to me. Already check the tire pressure before each outing and now need to remember to check the oil level as well.

Flat engine quirk.

I really like those.
They should look good on your car.
I’d put a matching Orange “Porsche” stripe down the side of your car.
My wife would hate it, but I think it would look great.

I'm sticking with my bronze wheels, so I can't commit to the orange theme, although it would look pretty cool.

I'm a little concerned that with the gnarly offset 285's in the back might be pretty tight. If anyone in MA/RI/CT has a 285/35, 285/30 or a 295/30 in 18 laying around and want to let me borrow for a test fit, would provide 6 pack for the trouble.

I got these for cheap and wanted to have a set of wheels ready for some R888's or Cup 2's in the event I hit checkout on my tire rack cart in a drunken stopper, at least that's the story I'm prepared to use.

Drunken stopper? That's no fun.

Orange wheels are perfect for the track.

The 285-95 will work on a c2 with some work. Roll the fenders, put 2.5* of camber on the back and make sure u have good bumpstoos. I also had to trim the bumper a little.i did it with some 19s for a while so u can make it work.
