I like the new color a lot more. It compliments the car more instead of being a distraction.

Thanks dude. You have good taste, maybe not the fastest on track with a 1st day out behind the wheel but definitely the best looking.

Default Lifer?

Well I think I have a problem, what is your opinion? Today I pulled out the recent 996 media stuff I have purchased and read every word (and loved it)!

Took care of a bunch of maintenance over the past month. Dropped more on the car this year than in any year prior. Replaced hood struts, engine mounts, drop links, sway bushings, axles, inner tie rods, strut mounts, rear tires, alignment, trans/diff flush, brake flush, oil change. After all this, thinking about listing it for sale and going up to a turbo. Always have a bit of paranoia about the IMS (I have a 6 year old LN bearing) and the possibility of scored cylinders. Nothing to substantiate the fears, but it's always in the back of my mind. Has anyone considered or done the same?

Your IMSB is due for another change, why wait?
Bore scoring, get it scoped!
Or wait and sell it to me when it becomes a roller ( I have a motor for it)

Better yet, sell it to me and I will put int the solution and be done with it. Nice car. I will have a nice 4S someday.

The solution costs what, $6k+ from an approved shop? Then there’s other failures to consider. Once one of those takes place, my $6k from the IMSB is gone. At this point I feel like it makes most sense to drive it til (if) it pops from IMSB, tensioners, bore scoring or something else, and send it off to FSI where they’ll put in the solution as part of a rebuild anyways.

Or sell it now and stop sweating it all the time. The car runs and drives fantastic now and it pains me to not be able to enjoy it.

Default Stereo Replacement

Replaced the factory stereo with a Pioneer with wireless CarPlay. Ran the mic to the stock location and replaced the lighter with a USB port. More info in the stereo upgrades thread.

Yes, quite often. My wife likes the Targa so we hang on to it, but I've been ready to sell for a while.

Ssherman68, I also installed a Pioneer (4500NEX) with wireless Apple CarPlay. That was 6 months ago and I love it. I then installed a backup camera, so maybe that's your next fun project.

Replaced the dying rear hood strut - <!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->$17.21 and 5 minutes of labor!
