What's the gray container with the 80/50 km/h sticker on it? Tire sealant? I see an ///M logo....
I like the first aid kit and warning triangle. Where did you get them?
The triangle came from Sonnen and the first aid kit came from Sonnen or Ebay.
Yes, the gray thing is an extra compressor/sealant kit from a BMW I had (good eye to spot the M logo BTW). I also carry a tire plug kit. I'm trying to make using the space saver spare a last resort.
EDIT: It looks like the first aid kit came from Ebay as a first aid kit/safety vest combo.
You can kind of see the safety vest box poking out here. Can't see a situation where I would use it but it fit nicely in that spot so what the hay?
I would assume that the fifth was for the rear fog lights.
Easy to test for.
Do you have reverse lights, brake lights, tail lights, turn signals?
Have brake lights, running tail lights, and turns, but no reverse. Left the OEM bulb in the unused port and still didn't light up when put in reverse. Might tinker with it more later, it's just been ridiculously hot/humid so non-climate garage isn't very enjoyable this time of year.

Could be your reverse light switch on the transmission. PITA to check and change out. Have to remove the underbody tray to access transmission. Depending on the level of pain you are willing to undertake, not having reverse lights is not the worst thing in the world.

Went for a 40 mile drive prior to installing and they worked when backing into the garage, can a switch go that easily? Agreed, it's not the worst thing in the world, but it adds one more lighting electrical issue that will get put off and sit in the back of my head every day.
It would bother me.
I also see it as a safety item.
People in parking lots won't think you're backing up and may not look back while backing, thus backing into you.

Yep, every day gets harder to trust the general public and their driving "capabilities and or awareness". Thankfully it's the secondary car so it can sit until sorted.
I get street cred for filling the UOA bottle without dribbling all over it
But get sent back to go based on the oil filter inspection. This is the biggest piece of unpleasantness found
There were 7 or so pieces this size: Sorry the picture is poor, but you can gauge the size
On closer inspection, every 10th or so pleat you would see 10 to 20 really small reflective dots. I didn't see these until after the filter element had drained. No picture. I'd have to get out my old camera with the macro lens to capture them. I also did not check whether they were magnetic. The UOA will tell the story.
This was not really a surprise. The engine started 'the tick' 6 or so months ago. An FSI rebuild has already been scheduled. Can't wait!
So, what to do after you find out that your engine is failing? GO FOR A DRIVE!!!!
Got these for a great deal, cleaned them up a little with some polish and put them on last night. Finished lining up the tips today and took it for a very satisfying drive. The sound difference is night and day. Not too loud but still enough to be heard in lower rpms
Can you post a link, or post info on where the UOA is being done?
I have never done this, and would like to start when I change oil next (soon)
Thanks in advance, Greg

@golock911
Sorry to hear of the misfortune. But doing an FSI rebuild is definitely making lemonade from lemons. Could you share your most recent oil analysis report? I’d be interested to see your numbers for silicon, aluminum, etc.
@islaTurbine: Yes, I will definitely post the results. Agreed that data is cool. From all the videos and discussion on the bore scoring, it seems there is a specific progression that can be seen in the data as the engine deteriorates. I'm sorry I didn't start sooner.
